Route Idea for LACM?

I can dig that.
However,The BHPD may not be as welcoming to us as the LAPD have been since last month. Also the LAPD will not be able to ride outside of their jurisdiction. I'm all support of the Blood In protest, but the BHPD make me nervous.

I thought people did that on Tuesday.
Beverly Hills does need its own Critical Mass, with its lack of bike lanes and inclination to pull cyclists over.
I don't think that's a good route especially if LAPD will be riding with us again. I had a great time last month and hope to have a great time tonight. It was very positive and inclusive.
I understand hit and runs are a problem but I don't think turning this month's CM into an angry protest will help CM or bicyclists in Los Angeles.
Also in the past we have had off-duty BH firefighters riding with us for fun; they left the ride when we entered BH.

BHPD is aware that we may be coming and will not react, I'm told, with hostility. They were supportive and friendly on Tuesday and I expect the same if we go there tonight.
LAPD is willing to escort us to the border, and if return along a known route, resume escort when return to LA.

Hey AT, just curious, are you proposing an actual stop in Beverly Hills, and if so, what are you proposing LACM do there?

Let's go to Beverly Hills. Our office is in Beverly Hills. I'd love to ride near our office at night time with hundreds of my closest friends. People in Beverly Hills are nice, including the police.

I think one protest is probably enough.
It seems like opinions are split just in talking about it with other riders, but unless there's an overwhelming consensus (ex. BP protest) I'd vote to keep these protests out of CM. Just my 2 cents...

I can't make it tonight, and I don't mind riding through Beverly Hills (or anywhere else) but I agree with Ohaijoe, I'd like to nix the protesting part (yes, LACM is a protest in and of itself but I mean the part where we stop in the middle of the street or wherever). Many people come on this ride--probably the majority, I'd say--without reading Bikeside or Midnight Ridazz and have no clue that they are getting into something that could spark civil disobedience beyond running red lights and riding as a group.
Everyone has a different view of what LACM means/does (thanks Ohaijoe for putting up that poll). But for me, and this is just my perspective, I just want to ride and celebrate our rights to the streets. Let my presence on my bike be my protest. Let the simplicity of our cycling en masse stand as its own message.
