It all depends on what company you work for.
Mom/Pop trucking company=work near home, but shitty equipment.
National Company=Benefits, kick-ass equipment, but gone for 2-3 weeks at a time.
But, at least I could schedule myself to get home for at least, one major ride with the latter.

haha; I stand corrected!
Maybe that's my problem: there's always been a connection in my mind between having a job and having money. If I could only dissuade myself of that notion I might be on my way to more fulfilling life.

I'd be much happier if I could get a little siesta in the middle of the day, so I can recover from the ride the night before.

sometimes i pass out in the backroom on my lunch hour - recovery from the night before of biking and drinking - but really, it's just a catnap so i can do a repeat when i get off work!

I usually just call "bad-traffic" and find a nice, shaded area to park the truck and catch a few winks.
OTR, is much better when it comes to this because then, you've got some of those "Wide-Open Spaces" that chicks from Dixie usually sing about.
I need to organize a "take a rida to work day" when I get back into that.

Working is usually better than the alternative unless you have sufficient savings to see you through.
The panic attacks about finding the next job / losing one's apartment / having to sell off one's possessions sort of ruin what ought to be carefree days of leisure.
That said, maybe we should start a Ridazz lotto pool. Each person could put in $52, and we'd have enough for a years worth of lotto tickets.
Make an agreement that at least $1mil goes toward a legal defense fund, and $1mil goes toward a stolen bike replacement fund, and then we split the rest equally.
