Guys have mandatory formal top (jacket, dress shirt, ties are bonuses, bowties are awesome)
you can wear lycra shorts under for all i give a fuck.
DRESS SHOES MANDATORY
Girls you have to wear dresses. High heels *not recommended*
Short ride from Pre-Prom , cruise the city in formal attire, slooooow pace because we cant really go to fast in dress shoes.
Prom King and Queen will be announced as well.
One time thing, why not, just to be different. bring a date. don't be a wallflower.

just cut the vinyl sole out of some cheap shimano shoes and slip them into dress shoes that are a size or two larger. Then just cut out a hole in the sole of the dress shoe for the cleat and voila.

And a football team (i.e., if you don't wan to wear a tux, you can show up in your letterman jacket or your football uniform).

The idea is more of a formal ride with the prom theme attached to it.
Even with a medium sized turnout, how crazy would it be to see a mob of cyclists in formal attire?!

I really want to scout a route out over to the Rose Gardens in downtown LA. there are gazebos and what not set out.
I'm gonna roll with nikki there one night to see what its like at night.
finding a date is not going to be that hard. just get a head start. find anyone and everyone you can tell about the ride and it'll be a greeeeat time.

Frankly, it shows a real lack of understanding of the history of Midnight Ridazz. Robot Ducks started two months ago; the second Saturday ride started all of this. You are free to do whatever you want, of course, but I encourage everyone to attend the other ride.

no need to be torn, the route is a slow 13 mile route, we're going to be going slow, if you want to be riding more then you may want to show up to the MR ride.
i dont expect to do more than 30 miles in my tux sooo you can figure that one out easily...

Meet time is listed as 7 p.m. on the Facebook group, but it's not posted on the ride listing (someone might want to get on that). I have a suggestion: leave by 7:30 and alter the route so that we can get to the official Midnight Ridazz ride by 10. I know it sucks to have to change a ride you've worked on, but I must say that I totally agree with theroyalacademy- there's a reason only one ride was posted for the second Friday of the month.
p.s. I am bringing punch. I suggest you don't try to spike it, you might make people sick.

Nobody owns any night, not even the second Friday of the month. There are only eight true weekend nights in a typical month. Eventually they'll all fill up with major recurring rides. Will we then feel obliged to wag our fingers at anybody who wants to put on a social bike ride on a weekend night?

As every night of every week seems to fill up with more and more rides (often more than 10 weekend nights), it has been nice to see that the second Friday ride has pretty much always been respected as the one night when everyone comes out and rides together (at least in theory).
But I guess laziness will win out eventually, westsiders not wanting to come east, eastsiders not wanting to come west, Valley riders south, etc. Perhaps this is a good thing, a sign that no one ride can contain everyone's desire to ride. I, personally, think it is sort of sad.
Whatever. It is no big deal. Keep riding.

You know this ride was rescheduled like 3 times already? Conflicts every single time. Whatever, I can't make the 12th. I'm going to miss out on this like I missed out on my HS prom, but whereas the latter I didn't care about, this one I know will be fun.

thats the plan. There a grocery store on Santa Monica and La Brea.
We'll be there around 10~10:15.
Worst case scenario, the prom ride ends at pan pacific. go do VBP and come around for the festivities.
we'd love it if VBP came over to play games with us.
so far I have Musical Bykes where we stack a bunch of bikes, and play it musical chair style.
also "tandem" races which is 2 people 1 bike 100m on grass.
this is prom so we can't not have dance contests.

We Meet from 7-8:30
its a long meeting period, because it is a friday, and we are calling it pre-prom. you know that time before the prom where you get as drunk and high as you can before you goto prom. We're planning to roll around 8:30~9 and do a 17 mile trek.
I think I'm going to post the route later tonight, i'm still deciding whether i want to keep it secret or not.

it would be cool if you posted the route because if we have outfit malfunctions and need to ride home halway through, it would be helpful to know where we'll be. i feel safer knowing ahead of time. friday nights aren't the safest to be out on the road in the dark.

i just looked at the VBP thread and its ridiculous. If anything 2 rides should mean 2x the F.U.N. it gives a chance for the westsidazz and the eastsidazz to each have a ride. Hopefully it also means we will meet up and end up with more ridazz than would ever show up to either even if they weren't on the same night.

I don't know what happened but I lost everyone on the way to Orange something after leaving the park with the vaginapeninsbanana ride...thank goodness for Bentstrider or I would have rode to DTLA alone!

IMHO, terrific ride idea but it suffered from being double-scheduled with Banana ride. That resulted in the turn-out being smaller than it should have been for such a great ride theme. And NO MUSIC TRAILERS?! That was a real bummer. Also, the ride wasn't well led. When it first started out, there was a lot of confusion about whether to roll through red-lights or not. Ultimately, a number of lights were ran that would have been better stopped to allow regroups. But it seemed there was no one taking charge. And wish we had managed to meet Banana as a whole group. Anyway, the theme was great, let's just make it a better outing next time.
