Reports ABC7: “A woman driving the car was arrested on suspicion of DUI, officials said. The driver told police she was looking down at her phone when she crashed into the bike riders.” AP and LA Nowalso report on the news.
On Jefferson in Culver City last nite - what the fcuk happened? Anyone on that ride?
I just heard about this from people at work making sure I wasn't on that ride.
They told me initial reports indicate that despite the fact the DUI cunt admitted she was looking at her phone when he ran down 11 human beings, the LAPD placed fault with the cyclists pending further investigation.
I recently spoke with the officer who will be writing the report. He had just returned from the field. A dermination of fault has not been made so your information is inaccurate. As soon as I get additional information I will advise.

This same inaccurate information, or inaccurate information very much like it, is being parroted on several local news outlets. Somebody has to have fed it to them; can you get additional information about that and advise?

There may have been additonal information released since I spoke with the officer...however I will have more accurate info today after 4:30 when we meet with South Traffic Division personnel.
Do please find out what it was about the condoms that made the officer(s) feel compelled to mention them to the reporter from KABC-TV as a possible contributing factor to the motorist plowing into the group, if indeed they did mention the condoms. Are we to presume that the bicyclists were buggering one another in the street, thus lowering their profile to such a degree as to prevent the light beam from a properly adjusted set of car headlamps from illuminating them?

You would think that condom use would actually portray said ridazz as a responsible bunch, unless the media was completely dominated by an extreme Christain-Right ideology espousing celibacy before marriage.

Do you blame a gunshot victim for standing in the path of a bullet? Maybe the gunman shouldn't have been pointing his weapon at someone in the first place. How can this report go any other way? A motor vehicle collided with objects at rest - human beings at rest.
Regardless of what the official report says (and I have little faith, based on personal experience, anecdotal evidence, and historical precedent that it will be filled out honestly or without bias), officers on the scene were said to be heard berating cyclists to their faces at an already traumatic crime scene, and news outlets were being told that the cyclists may share the fault for this incident.
How could officers be making these public statements and personal accusations, indicating the fault of cyclists, if a report had not yet been filed?

Maybe you should have a talk with them, because they are the ones who said officers at the scene were placing partial fault on the cyclists.

Maybe all cyclists should carry a card of a 24hr lawyer they could contact who can come to the scene of the crime and help when LAPD's worst arrive. This way they won't berate the victims and spew out biased information that will slander and have the public perceive cyclists in a negative light, before all the facts have been laid out.
