I can't tell if I am pleased because this might mean more folks on bikes, if I am disgusted because well, it's Urban Outfitters, if I am terrified because there will be more kids on bikes talking on their cell phones and listening to their iPods without brakes, or if I am curious to see what the "OG fixters" will start riding now that the fixie is officially passé. (Could that have been done with semi-colons?)
I don't really feel the need to call someone out for their bike unless they are being a dumbass on it.
Urban Outfitters makes some stuff that I would buy...if it weren't overpriced garbage peddled by a H8 supporter.
Of course it's no surprise that they've co-opted the fixie - that's how trends operate. And that's not to say that a fixed gear bike is a bad thing nor that everyone who rides em is following the fad.

Argh, I had just heard about this THIS morning. My ex-boyfriend had sent me an e-mail saying, "Hey, you know they sell fixies at Urban now?" I was like WTF?
Seriously, what AREN'T they trying to sell? They sell the fucking cycling caps, utility pouches and messenger bags already.
ooh yeah! that chump was on a choice casati, riding around on spd-sl pedals with dunks...I told him to switch that shit out the first time I saw him with that setup. nearly five months now and he's still riding around like that.
doh. I totally remember seeing him pull some "ohh shit how do you stop this thing" moves. fronting like you're a hot shot messenger and you're not prepared, nor can you work on your own bike?? double doh!
