such a great ride. really well thought out. props to dak and all involved.
im really into the idea of having a central location, hanging out at said central location for a few minutes, riding around for an hour, coming back to the central location, and then repeating the process. i think i went on five rides last night.
I was walking back to the start with this kid who caught a flat talking about bus routes that he might take home ... all of a sudden the whole ride rolled up on us ... all we had to do was yell "flat" and a crew of people stopped to help (thanks Cabhauler et al.).
I salute the Reverend Dak J. Ultimak for his amazing ride concept. As confused as everybody was at first the ride proved to be a Fnord! brilliant concept and feat of engineering.
thanks to the organizers of the ride. that was pretty fun, and i didn't see anyone so piss drunk as to cause disrespect to other riders but i did see some guy kicking over cones which i think could be a hazard to other riders that could catch one by mistake. really not that cool. riding past nokia was dope. thanks again.
i need visions of pink wigs, masonic hats, puffy fish suits, dumfounded looks of chaotic confusion, rogue assasins, shirtless drunkards, red circles, orange square, purple stars and general madness before i fall asleep.
anything post 1am would be cool, as my memory gets a little hazy at that point.
A couple people stopped short in front of me and I had to stand on the pedal to try and stop (front brake would have been a disaster). As I stood on the pedal on the backstroke the drive side crank arm snapped in half. I fell backwards off the bike and ended up laying on the ground with a cage pedal stuck to my foot. Not sure what could make a crank snap in half like that but it was scary as fuck.
F.U.N. thru the night. Oh discord, how I love thee. It was even apocolyptic last night, with all the wind stirring bits of "city sand" into the air.
Many thanks to Barry for giving me a ride back to the valley! Awesome how you defied the laws of physics to make my bike fit in your car; how discordian of you. : D
Great Ride thanks to the Yellow Team! Well, to Dak... the purists probably had their issues but what a great way to shake it up! Keep it fresh! It was like a ride in REVERSE! At one point it felt like just one big massive ride going, a train you could get off and party on and then pick it up when you were ready to roll!
When I heard Black Dice on the box as the first song of the ride ... i knew we were in for something special... Then again when the borfosarus is screaming like a madman AND he is actually in charge and giving directions ... you know its gonna be something special
I just saw him looking really drunk holding on to someone after the ride with Uly in the middle of the street without a shirt on holding two bikes. it made me confused.
I got a kick out of Crespin & Dave (yellow team? don't remember) and they came upon our group (purple) and wanted to hijack it. But it was funny because there was nothing to hijack as we were all going the same direction and following the same route. But they did have a music system, so they win the 'cool group' competition.
It was my seester's first ride, and she had a lot of fun. I think the giant twister game was fun for her, and singing songs with Andrew and Miguel was fun for her too...she's totally jazzed about coming on the next ride! Thanks you guys for helping to make her feel welcome.
That was my favorite 2nd Friday ride in a while. Highlights were definitely the homeless gospel singer dudes (with megaphone and drunken rider accompaniment), the Sean and Nicole Twister Ninja Hijinks Show (also with megaphone and drunken rider accompaniment), and LanceK leading the "rainbow" team on a tour of the downtown highlights. Ever play Super Mario Kart? Remember the Rainbow Road level? Yeah, well it was exactly like that.
Tren Way Gangsta's!!!!!! sounds like i missed a great ride !!! The concept of having a central point sounds pretty FUN and by the sounds of it, it Really Was . F U N F U N F U N
The Reverend Dakota Jesus Ultimak, D.M., B.M.o.(d).O.S.C., etc. thanks you all that made it. For making it. And for making it so FUN. And for adding to the organized CHAOS. And fnord supporting and participating in the Original 2nd Friday Midnight Ridazz.
See you all NEXT MONTH: For November's 2nd Friday Midnight Ridazz will be presented by FUZZBEAST, and it is:
MIDNIGHT RIDAZZ: Midieval Ridazz: Ridazz in Tights!
