Is anyone doing the SF to LA AIDS ride? It's not until May of 2009,
but I was just curious if anyone was going to do it or has done it?
Apparently you can use any kind of bike. It's a total of 545 miles paced over 7 days. There are spots designated to camp and rest
at the end of each day. Seems like it'd be really fun.

I'm thinking about doing this. Do it with me?

DO IT!
I did it for the first time this year and it was incredible. The support system they have is top notch and you get all the free food and water and cliff bars etc. just amazing. TIP: don't eat too many cliff bars. you will have a rough time passing BMs and your tent mate will hate you.

Trying to gage whether this ride can be done on a singlespeed. Are there any any painful/insurmountable hills that would require gears?

people did it on fixed gears last year. ironically, none of them were hipsters from midnight ridazz. be the first!
