What happened to Eric?
Anyone know?
When is the next LOS ANGELOPES?
Is he going to NY?!?
(inquiring minds want to know)

Erock works Mondays at the bikerowave, and recently has been training for the new Cyclocross season. All of his hard work recently paid off at the season opener where he got second in the Cat4 beginner class, and won me these neat socks I am currently wearing.
I don't believe he will be coming with us to NY, as I am letting him use my Empella cross bike for the month and half I'm gone. He's sure to get 1st at the next race with my beautiful black beauty.

This just in from Cabhauler:
"e rock just podiumed in his first Cat 4 race. He has enough points to
move up to Cat three in the next race, if he finishes "pretty well."
Email him and congratulate him."
CONGRATS E-ROCK!

HA! Thanks you guise! All the encouragement and good words mean a lot to me!
No, i'm not going to NY. Yes, there's Angelopes this weekend (thanks to Fuzz and Brassknuckle), but no, I won't be there... I will be:
a) sleeping
b) Watching the track Nationals
Honestly I've been spending A LOT of time training and haven't been doing cubcamp, or organizing rides. I know, I know, but, for srsly, if you want to give me shit you should come out to the 'cross races, they're almost every weekend for the next 3 months!!!
I do miss you all (yes, even Jeff), and think of you all the time!

CYCLOCROSS!!!
yesterday (sunday) was the second set of cyclocross races this year and, we've got some news!
SuperCole got 2nd in the men's single speed (riding fixed no less). David also raced fixed single speed, and made up for his lackluster mid-pack finish, with the classiness of a squeaky plastic horn...
In my mens Cat 4 race I was second for the majority of the race, only to crash at the bottom of a sketchy and technical down hill on the last lap (loosing several places) and then, subsequently almost black out during a steep run-up trying to fight back up to 3rd (loosing even more places)... I think I ended up in 12th or something.
The course was mostly hard packed dirt and really, really fast, so most people brought an extra set of legs along with their backup bike...
pray for rain...

E-rock looked really strong today, especially on his last two laps, unfortunately I had to leave before results were posted and it's hard to keep track of lapped riders towards the end.
And it looks like Cole flatted at the farthest point away from the pits so he lost a lot of time getting his other bike. He was right in the lead pack of 6 in the 3/4 race until he flatted.

Towlie!!!!
Thanks for coming out man, it was awesome to see some Ridazz support!!! I was wondering where you went off to!
I raced the mens 3/4 (intermediate) and had a crummy start which left me sucking dust for the first lap, and took another 2 before I could actually breath right. In the end I finished 14th (of 30).
Also, Cole got second in the Single speed "A" race. RAD!
Also, also, I recently got recruited to Team CICLE, so I guess I'm a legit racer now... Go go go!
so, what's the schedule next?
10/19 - Oceanside (on the beach!)
10/25 - Irvine (at night!)
10/26 - Torrance (5 blocks from my apt!)
11/2 - Ventura! (right down the street from RBI!)
And if you're really really bored you can check
MY FLICKR for some photos from the race....

CYCLOCROSS!!!
This weekend was at Camp Pendelton in Ocean side, on the beach, basically a gnarly course with waaaay too much sand, and apparently i'm not that good at running in sand.. who knew!? I ended up in 8th in mens 3/4 (my best finish yet) and managed to chase some guys down on the last lap.
Checkety the Photos!
Now, you all should come to Entradero Park in Torrance next Sunday the 26th, and watch some races, it's (almost) on the west side!
Latez!

Guess what! I had another exiting weekend of racing!
On Saturday I raced in Irvine (at night!) in a very competitive men's Intermediate field of about 50 racers. The race was extremely fast paced and I was duking it out for 3rd/4th/5th for the entire race. I ended up loosing my gas at the end and had to settle for 5th, but am still pretty happy with the results. I've also become one of the "unofficial" photographers for some of the SoCal Cyclocross events, so check
my flickr for some of the photos that I took from yesterdays racing, they even provided me with a camera and lenses! But, I still haven't gotten someone to reliably take pictures of me...
Then! On Sunday I had another race in Torrance (about 5 blocks from my apt). The field was much smaller, about 8-10 guys and very difficult, with a running section that was more like mountain climbing. I ended up in 4th after nearly pushing it past the limit.
Next weekend the races move out to Ventura, so expect to hear more from me then!

I finished second, come out to the races at Hansen Dam next weekend Nov 8/9th, or you might not see me for another decade or so when I enter the olympics...
