108 miles by the time I hit Tangs. Soloed from Figueroa/6th street through the whole N.E. - Rosebowl part of the route, which was kind of lonely. My favorite part was looking for hustlers over my shoulder on my way up Colorado and seeing the moon. Thanks to Tony Z, Johnell the Unstoppable, and Neuro John.

I wasn't too bothered by it even though all I was wearing was a t-shirt... my nipples are pretty much non-existent now though.
Oh well... Fuck Lyfe!

What you needed was some Ashford and Simpson blaring from my jam-box!!!
That would've put the thought of cold, into the back of all our minds.
bentstrider11.11.08 - 2:37 pm

my problem was that I stopped too much and my whole body froze up. when we got to fletcher my vote went to cutting out the rose bowl leg all together. shame. 85 miles got back at about 4:50am.
that front pack really took off on rinaldi that's where I lost it. Good strategy to stop only twice. looking back we should have done same. its pretty defeating to see that last blinky light waaaay down topanga knowing that group is hauling.

I took off with Wise at Venice, it was getting too cold.
I skipped the Rose Bowl, and met Wise at fair oaks.

What an serious outing.
I lost pace with the fast group going over Sepulveda.
Met up with Steve on the way down towards UCLA.
We continued on to USC where we met up with Wayne.
Steve, Wayne and I rolled on thru Downtown.
At Elysian Park, Steve cut out but I just wanted to finish.
Wayne and I pushed on, and after a coffee break we got a second wind and carried our momentum to the Rose Bowl and beyond.
Got back to an empty Tang's at about 6:20.
Mmmmmm donuts.

We saw Wayne roll by on the way to the coliseum from inside an AM/PM damn... heaaring that you guys rode on and seeing james had done so as well makes want another chance at this route. That front pack killed it.

After everyone left the first stop on laurel canyon, this guy comes out of the 7/11 saying, "don't you guys have jobs to go to in the morning?!"
