Good question. Maybe rolling over there from bike district might be a good idea, even if it's really short. Though really we should be rollin' in from all over this crazy city.

Everyone, please keep in mind - we're upset because rights have been taken away from some of us, our friends and family, and when one person doesn't have the same rights, none of us do. It hurts us all.
BUT, it serves no purpose to fight suppression with hatred. What point do you prove if you choose to be intolerant because you despise intolerance? Isn't that just feeding into the filth?
Speak your mind and fight for equality, just remember what that means. Those "religious zealots" you hate...don't deserve suppression anymore than the gay community. No one does.

i agree with you on the religious zealots thing up to a certain point.
when they start pushing their values of what they think life should be on people who dont practice their religion, then they are crossing a line and are in the wrong. plain and simple.

Just dress like them and make out with eachother, the press on that will be enough to turn them back into bats.

I agree with tallcans we should have done this before the election. Hindsight is always 20/20.
We need to do this ride, we need to protest loud.
Before the Nazis went after the Jews, the Gypsies, the liberals, the intellectuals and the socialists...the first segment of society to be oppressed and exterminated were the gays.
It is a barometer of things to come.

Any hints on a route or stop/protest locations? If you're going to WeHo or the church on SM Blvd, I'm sure westsiders would be more likely to join up.

There was a smaller break off protest that kept going east from the junction, it made it as far as Sunset and Coranado before being stopped completely. We were riding back to Echo Park from the junction and literally had to dodge riot cops running down the streets, then at Descanso we witnessed about 100 people pull a sitdown in the crosswalk on Sunset. We decided to leave when the riot cops marched into the middle of it and pretty much pushed everyone onto the sidewalk.

Sounds like some "Dawn Of The Dead"-type shit going on down there.
Myself and chynna were hauling the stereo-box to the Westside and sort of ran into remnants near the Vermont and something or other station.

What an exemplary show of a united community. The crowd continued to grow throughout the night, and I'm amazed that it went so long. The chicken-faced protesters with the "cage free gays" signs were the best. Way to inject some humor into the mix. Intolerance will not be tolerated! This is America, dammit!

fact: A large crowd chanting "YES WE CAN!" sounds a hell of a lot like "F.U.N."

There is a
protest tomorrow night Nov 11th at the Santa Monica pier. The face book page has 275 confirmed guests. There is also
one starting at Windward Circle that plans on marching up Pacific and joining the Santa Monica protest. This is a great opportunity to have bikes in the streets of Santa Monica with a lot of community support. And it’s super FUN when groups converge.

Awesome that you gais represented!
I was in the area and saw the crowd forming but I had to leave around 5:45 because I had plans with my family. At least I got to ring my bell in solidarity and saw many of you turning right onto Santa Monica as I headed home!
