If you ride a bike enough to have use for an aba then you should allready have these items and know how to use them. If not get them and then go to a bike co-op.

Yes, keep tools/tubes/cellphone/friends or taxicab phone numbers/cash in your backpack.
That way you can do basic repairs yourself, and if it's beyond your ability, you can call a cab or a friend, throw your bike in the trunk, and get it home or to the bikeshop in fairly short order.
Or is there something this organization would do that's different?

yea i know .. i carry my shit on me too .. pretty much all the time. but what happens when you dont have it ? or even if you just want emotional support? .. are you still not for this? i mean its more of a social consideration thing vrs like " bring your own shit dirtbag"
something something..

no fuck you and your emotional support, keep your bike well maintained. its fucking annoying when people are always asking for your help and tools. if you dont crash and maintain your bike the only things you will ever need are tire levers patches and a pump. if you run amardillos or gatorskins you most likely wont even need those.

In an urban area with taxi, transit and social connections, something like better world club may not be really worth it, however I am interested in it because they are a nation wide deal and for bike touring could be nice to know someone has your back in all 50 states.

sorry, i used to deal with the same thing for friends cars before i got into MR when i was an appretice mechanic. "so like could you fix my car for me." yes but im gonna charge you how ever much anyone else would.

er. ah. ok.
maybe the ABA,BBB, XYZ, could provide you the tools in a package with a member benefit subscription much like AAA. I think Nina is just throwing ideas out to contemplate this is all.
It could be a nonprofit deal like the LABC, and the monies could go towards promoting bike awareness, pirate sharrows, lobbying money, bike over, kitchen, ro'wave donations, etc.
but fuck emotional support!!!

At least in DTLA and vicinity, the Metro's got you covered.
In my neck of the woods, either you got to know how to fix your shit, or hope someone's awake to give you a 3AM lift.
