Saddles

I just found out that my saddle, a vintage Turbo, is cracked 1/2 way across its width. It makes squeaking sounds and I'm afraid it may buckle soon if I keep riding on it.
What do you guys have and suggest I buy? Is there a bike shop that can fit my bum to a saddle that compliments it well? I'm ignorant, so give me info.

Get this sucker, I'll never go back to a regular saddle, never.
$125 from chainreactioncycles.com
Carbon rails and carbon underneath the leather.

Take a ruler, measure the distance between your butt/sit bones (aka your ischial tuberosities), go to bike store, find a seat with pads at that distance, buy it, spend the next 2 weeks adjusting the height/angle/fore-aft position, win.
Don't get something too squishy as that will bunch up and put pressure on your tender bits, but don't get something too hard either. You should be able to find a perfectly fine saddle brand new for about $30.

Or, get a used leather saddle from Bicycle Ambulance.
I got a Brooks. $20. Tony's got some Ideale saddles, too. Last I was in there, he said he had about 20 saddles, though he has different kinds — road bike, comfort saddles, racing saddles, &c. So they might not have exactly what you're looking for, but it's worth a look.
Leather saddles aren't for everyone. But they are for me. I like mine ever so much.
