I was always wondering, how other ridazz from other areas (other than California) get their info on the rides.
Cause if a fellow rider is going to go on a trip, say NY, New Mex, Oklahoma, etc. Where would they go to find out about a ride in that area and not become "street sick".

they post on their myspace page. like the austin MR chapter.

real cyclists can get on a bike and ride wherever the fuck they are. if you need a drunken mob to surround you then i feel bad for you, son.

Tyler, there are those times in our lives when solo-riding becomes dull to the extent of utilizing baseball bats to take out rural mail-boxes.
If anything, having several, or more people to chat and ride with would make the experience more appealing to those not on bikes.
As far as the alcohol-thing goes, that could've just been an accidental spark of some random alcoholic who needed his fix while on the ride.
A group of kids sees this and, "Hey, we should start drinking on rides too!!!"

if you can talk while youre riding, then youre not riding hard enough.

@ ijunes: "We have ridazz all over the North America, in Europe, in Asia, and communities through out the west coast. "
- So how do they relay Ride information to other ridazz who would like to join or individuals who are new to midnight ridazz & would like to know if there is a ride near them.
@rbi: True, real cyclists can get out and ride wherever they want. But, it's quite nice to go out and ride with other people. And that group of people don't necessarily have to be drunk.

You don't "need" to ride hard all of the time.

still the thread topic is misleading in the sense that you have a general question that is not relevant to the date of the 5 year conception period since the ridazz first began.
a more proper thread title would have been:
Non-LA Ridazz
Out of Town Group Rides

whats this "street sickness" youre speaking of in the first post? is it being in a place with your bike but without your friends to ride with? if you need people to ride with you, then youre riding for all the wrong reasons. i mean, youre still out there riding, which is for the greater good, or whatever. but regardless.

ijunes: True, forgive me for my misleading topic.
RBI,
Poor choice of words on my behalf. ijunes, forgive me for my misleading topic. And RBI, once again. I chose the wrong words to express my meaning. Which is sort of an understatement.
What I've learned in my short period of riding with MR, is that people in the community normally (in my case) know more or know something you don't know about the city your are in. Sure, I can go to Austin and just ride. But perhaps, If I go on a ride, the route will take me through another area I was not aware of before. And just riding with people is a byproduct of actually attending the ride for the sake of riding.

google the town youre in + bike rides, or search for routes on bikely. i highly doubt some stranger will give you a tour of the city by bike if thats what youre wondering.

They let people know using carrier pigeons, smoke signals and other high-tech communications media. It's called "promoting your ride," and yes, people in other places actually do find ways to communicate ride information without the use of the Midnight Ridazz web site. I don't know
what they do when they need to discuss such pressing societal issues as underage farting, however.

You surly bastards.
Just answer his question if you know and stop taunting him if you don't.
I'd like to know the same thing.

Actually, we have a secret underground network coordinating all bike rides in all cities, and we're trying to throw everyone off the trail by being snarky assholes.

When MR site was young and the energy was spreading fast there were quite a few rides being posted for areas outside LA.
However its gotten to the point now that there is so much action on the board that there are so many LA rides that people from more than 50 or 60 miles away do not tend to post here anymore.
As mentioned above. People in tother areas use myspace, face book, and etc. to get their message out.
For the 5 year Anniversary I think it would be great if MR became somewhat of a hub for people to post rides from all over.
I think when MidnightRidazz.com v2.0 comes along some day it will be probably better at assisting ride planning from different parts of the US/ Wolrd
