this is the type of bullhorn bars i want
something with sharper angles.
all i can find are ones by nitto that are like 60 bucks.
is there some generic company that makes bullhorns like this instead of the flatter versions?
reply
i see this type of bullhorn everywhere for 20 bucks.

I got Nitto pursuit bars for like $44 bucks and they work very well for bicycling. Maybe not so good for the rarified world of fixed-gear freestyle but I'dunno much about that.

@horse
oh trust me, you will never see me doing some one leg over the handle bar shit.
the reason i want bull horns is bc the drops i have right now make it hard to sprint when im standing.
if i had bullhorns i figured itd feel similar to having hoods on my bars and help out with stability,
me doing some one footed skid? mafuggaaaaaaaa pleeeeeeeaaasssssseeeeeeeeee!
i dont need to do skids to impress some semi attractive drunk girl on rides.
hahahaha!

its MR points son.. cmon, i just got some sweet pursuit bars, gold, for like fifty and their sick as hell i stand and take off all the time.. maybe thats the ratio im running or maybe im just better then you..
you want some ice for that burn it looks pretty bad..
on the subject of bullhorns i had some sick profile bullhorns i got for like fifty and they were amazing.. black and with a nice drop not to intense but not wussy, i used to be able to power up hills with em.

award for most amazing-cheesy-but-shit-you-got-me phrase.
yeah see, i dont really wanna spend all that dough though,
like i can find the flatter ones with less angle for like 20 bucks.
i think its some strange chinese brand. the ones with the wreath stamp and shit.
but no where near close to the nitto ones.
hopefully some xmas cash in the next few days.

...yes they will help with sprinting if your current drops are too low. Get em wide enough to engage the upper body and you will be blowing through yellow lights....

i would head over to bikrowave, or bike oven or the kitchen and check out what they got.. they usually have some handle bars and if you dont like the ones they have cut and flip is always available.

@horse
would 42 cm be considered "wide"
ive been told that my drops are too narrow for me even though im pretty comfy witht hem
KiMS112.24.08 - 1:04 am
reply
ah the cut and flip.
i guess i could do that but damnit, i want those angles!
i was looking at some childs cruiser bars the other day,.
if i can flip and chop thos, theyd actually be pretty similar to what i want

Ice is bad for burns. You should run the burn under cool (not even cold) water.
Thank you.

Bar width is relative to your shoulder width, but I understand going a bit narrower then is orthodox, within reason. I have very wide shoulders but I have 44cm bars. 44cm is wide enough seeing how I rock my bike for leverage when initiating a sprint. Narrow bars help if you are darting through traffic or snaking through a peloton, but any narrower then your hips is to small, in my opinion.

@horse
ahhhh, i gotcha.
yeah, no need trying to keep it narrow. i just need some solid leverage while sprinting.
shit, if the rule of thumb is to have ur bars as wide as ur hips, then my drops are way too small.

Drunk chicks aren't attracted by fixietrix . Thank god they often know that fixietrixters adolescent lame attempt to show off reveals their incompetence and lack of confidence.
Personally I like to think they are why I thrive. Women look at them see how ridiculous they look and than see me and how less offensive I am to their senses.

I just don't see a point in squeezing the bars through only to bang hips and or pedals....I have 42cm pursuit bars on my fixed gear bike. I got em a little narrow because I made a TT setup with some Profile aero clip-ons. It was crazy to feel firsthand how efficient the TT position is.

Take a pair of small cruiser bars and flip them over. That should be swoopy and loopy enough for you. They are also cheap 10-15 bucks new.

got syntace 200 TT Bars for 24.99... best bullhorns ive used.
there are different variations of angles..
Syntace 100 - 0 drop
Syntace 200 - 15 drop
Syntace 400 - 40 drop (similar to rb-021)
I personally feel that they are better than those nittos bars.

where'd you get that deal on Syntace? Yeah they make good stuff, but it's usually pricier, no? CL or Ebay used?

It was on some online store.. i honestly forgot, but i used froggle to search for a price and stumbled upon it. I think it was marked down because they were silver, not the more popular black color. I thought to myself saving 30-40 bucks for slight color mismatch is worth it.. I wrapped the whole thing anyways with black bartape so you cant really tell :p
