We must back Israel to control the area, to have a tactical advantage. A central location with control of the Suez canal.
Our way of life is dependendent on us controling the OIL in that region. That is also why we are in Afganastan to delay and interupt the Iranian pipeline due to be compleated soon. This will really fuck us up as they are going to have there own market dealing in euros. This also why the Russians went into Georgia during Olympics to get a tactical advantage on oil supplies.
Its not about not driving SUVs, everything plastic is made from oil,
and our economy/dollar is based off oil.
As usuall the poor suffer as the rich power play.
We are a rich country
I say we quit fucking around and get it overwith.
EVERYBODY HATES US ANYWAY
SEND IN THE B52s AND CARPET BOMB THE WHOLE AREA
INCLUDING ISRAEL
TURN IT TO GLASS AND START OVER
Or we could, oh, I don't know, GET OFF OUR FAT ASSES AND ACTUALLY TRY TO USE A FUCKLOAD LESS OIL.
Here's a clue: When Dick Cheney said "The American Way of Life is not negotiable" he was right. I'm not saying this because I agree with him, but because it has never been negotiated with the rest of the planet that it effects.
Furthermore, I don't know if you've noticed this, but America's grip on its way of life has been becoming increasingly slippery of late. This too is not negotiated.
Yearly global oil production is unlikely to go up ever again. The sooner this country snaps out of the collective delusion that a finite sphere can somehow hold an infinite amount of resources, the better.
I dunno bents,
you sound a little bit like Joe The Plumber. We all have to make our judgments based on the best information available.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that there is something disproportional about killing 1000+ people in retaliation for the deaths of 3 or 4 civilians; when more Israeli solders have died in "friendly fire" incidents than Israeli civilians have been killed by Hamas Rockets.
Now everybody is scratching their head wondering why Israel is "losing the PR war" ... hmmmm I wonder why.
Its gotten to the point, where it really doesn't matter what Israel does, every politician in the US will support them and every news outlet will lean toward the Israeli narrative ... even if it completely irrational.
Perhaps it will take something as blatant and horrific as this, to turn things around a bit. To get people to think outside of the established political narrative of the last 50 years.
The Notorious O.B.L. is laughing his ass off now.
This fiasco is the best Al Q'eda recruiting video since Abu Gareb.
