F'N WEST SIDE RIDE #3

This time we are riding to new and not well known places on the West Side. The previous two F'N Rides have been at a moderate pace, so this time it's getting advertised that way! Beach cruisers are still welcome and nobody will be dropped, but we will be doing some riding on both sides of the 405 and then heading back very close to Windward Circle to finish things up.
Previously the F'N rides have been less than organized, but this one has a tiny bit more structure.

I only call it that because I was talking to a couple of people at the beach that wanted to know what we were doing (4th of July ride/FUNDERSTORM).
I mentioned to these guys that there was going to be some music at the Windward Circle after we all got done riding.
So, as I closed up, one of the guys was all, "So y'all going down to the Circle-Jerk later tonight? Cool."
So, that's why anytime any "Circle of Death" related thing is brought up, you'll always hear me screaming "Circle Jerk" whenever it's going down.

The problem is that there are some crutch places places on the West side that have been frequented a bit too much. I'm aiming to introduce a few new spots that could possibly be a lot of F.U.N.
There will be some familiar places too though!

I am sorry to say that there will be no Mustache Bridge, no Windward Circle, and no CRANK MOB park, but there might be some mini pier thrown into the mix ;)
There will DEFINITELY be pizza at the end. If we time it out just right there will be free pizza & cookies for everyone!

If we were to recreate last time's success, I would suggest getting there @ 3am with at least 6 people and at least 4 peeps ordering a pizza each... some persuasive pizza-munchie sophistry helps too

Thanks bondink! Yeah I will never forget that Friday afternoon when the 5:30 thread was the key to my survival. If it were not for that thread my face would have spontaneously combusted out of boredom and anticipation of that night's activities
Lane, fucking great idea about letting them know in advance- I'm thinking I'll call them today or tomorrow to talk about it. Then I'll follow up when we are about an hour away from stopping by so I can tell them how many people we have in our partay on wheelz. And yeah it would be best to go in on whole pizzas for sure.
Those guys have always been so effing cool about us cramming their pizza place. In theory a little planning will only make them appreciate us even more!

we went to places and rode down roads the westside HAS NEVER BEEN TO BEFORE!!!
we went as fast as ROBOTZ and had some major F!U!N!

If I deserve any credit at all, it's a very VERY tiny fraction of the credit that jonnyboy gets for putting together an awesome route with new locations and keeping the F.U.N. rolling! He even made those bitchin spoke cards and kept the group together to the bitter end!

You guys! I am so super stoked that everyone enjoyed the route!!!
It was definitely stressful at times trying to keep the whole ride together, especially since I was trying to establish that this ride is meant to be a little bit faster. Next time I will make sure that it is clearly posted. Next ride is NO BEACH CRUISERS, and NO SUGARCOOKIES!!!! :)
The amphitheater seemed like the coolest spot, the only thing we need next time is a sound system and that place is going to ROCK OUT!
SO excited about these new places. SO glad that there was such a good showing. Thanks guys!!
How about those rollercoaster hills?! Fucking crazy. I am so thankful that everyone stayed close and did not try to hijack the ride, navigating gets crazy round those parts.

That amphitheater was a truly sweet find!
I dunno about the no beach cruisers rule... How about a no slowpokes or weirdos rule? 'Cause Patrick was on his first ride and once he learned to draft me he was able to keep up for a pretty good distance at speeds of about 25mph... WITH ASTHMA! That kid's awesome. I hope to see him on the next ride and even if there's a no beach cruiser law in effect by then, I'll vouch for him and push his wind so he can keep up.

@ Eddie, it was a pretty good turn out. Probably about 40 peeps at the start. I think Jonnyboy took a more accurate head count than I did though. How many were there Jon?
on another note:
Chloe, Lane and myself started a new tradition after this F'N ride. For those of you who have more party-fuel to burn after the next F'N Westside Ride, be advised that The Something Else Ride is to Critical Mass as The Whatthefuck Ride is to the F'N Westide Ride. In other words, if the F'N ride is over and you're still lookin' to party on, you can simply join The Whatthefuck Ride!

Ryan, Patrick stands in a league of his own- and he is welcome on any future rides whatever bike he rides :)
It was truly impressive seeing a dude on a beach cruiser hauling some ass against a headwind! He would be a force to be reckoned with if he got a road bike, no doubt.
I would guess about 40-50 people were at the start. I made 45 spoke cards, and I ended up with 2 at the very end, one for me and one for Mandy :) There might have been just a few people that didn't get spoke cards.
Overall, I was really happy with the turnout. I think that amphitheater can handle quite the mass of people though. Add a soundsystem with 20-30 more people and I think the ingredients would be just right for some SERIOUS CRAZY TOWN F.U.N.

I had fun. I had to leave early because I was getting sleepy. What can I say, I'm weak.
Might it work to split off the slower folks next time instead of just getting rid of 'em? Each group would try to stay together but both groups wouldn't need to. Maybe it wouldn't be practical.
