Media section?

Hey roadblock, Have you thought about creating a media section for the site?
Yanno a place for all the videos and MP3's and such, maybe keep it separate from the photo gallery?
I mean, we're getting a lot of video now, and the front page is getting kinda long...
Oh and where is the anthem posted at? I was looking for it earlier, and couldn't find it.

great idea, I'm going to look into getting a youtube gallery going.... here's the problem.... I'm not a php programmer.... I can do certain things with it but other things take hiring a programmer. would it be weird if I threw a paypal donate button up there? I have a few things I want to do. If there is an expert level php prorammer out there or a way to raise the funds I'm all for it. I want the site to be commercial free... but at times it could use some sprucing up..... what you think?

well, first off the donations would have to be all voluntary... hmm it would be interesting if I could set up a sort of donate / bid function where it would give the scope of the project and people could donate funds towards completing it. as the funds rise it also becomes a "bid" on the project itself. a qualified php / programmer could wait until the funds are enough to satisfy him/her for doing the job..... and once the donations reach a satisfactory amount the bidding programmer could take the job and make it happen....

Ok... all set up....
this project's budget wil be dedicated to creating a media gallery.... a way for a youtube gallery to exist on our site. with custom comment field and thumbs. anyone out there want to bid on this project? I'm guessing it will take a day or two to create it including the submission page. so something like $500? more?
anyone out there want to donate then click this button and throw down a few bucks... I hate to come off begging for money but sometimes it takes some fund raising to make improvements that require outside help...

yeah, I kind of set out to learn it myself.... I was tweaking the code on this site a lot but my style of programming can best be described as one of those pee wee herman contraptions where an egg rolls down a plank and knock a bowling ball into a pin that sets off the toaster which bounces bread into a scale and.... uh.... crashes the server......

you know what.... fuck it. I took the button down. It doesnt feel right. I returned your money Fuzz thanks anyway it was a good gesture. Let me think about the right way to do this. I don't like asking for money. I'm gonna see if I can lump this into another job for someone here at work....

Possible ways to Raise $$:
Auction off Custom Spoke Cards!
Have a $5 Bike wash with topless guys wearing helmets
$5 to spray paint on my car...no make it $3
And if there is a programmer that will do it for trade, i can make an ILL green bean casserole.

for some reason, after i upgraded to the new firefox, youtube and other embedded videos crash my browser. i tried reinstalling an older version of firefox, but that doesnt work either.
