Toy Ride idea

All right, I couldn't figure out who to e-mail a suggestion to, so I'm posting this here. If you guys haven't decided on a charity to donate the gifts to then I have an idea. Some police stations accept toys for charity and distribute them to kids. I think we could take advantage of this to not only do good for kids, but to improve our image in the eyes of cops. It would be pretty hard to keep believing that we're riding to cause destruction if we're donating toys. I think it would be a nice PR boost.

 Agent Orange originally planned to do this. The cops never got back so we had to move on and choose a charity that responded to our offer.

 What are the logistics of this?

I mean will someone be collecting all the toys at the end of the ride and shuttling them somewhere?

I am having a hard time envisioning this.

I think the cop idea is a good one. When I did Riot, one of the cops gave me his card, I'll call him and see if he has any suggestions.

 spiraldemon works at the charity that we will be donating to. they will be sending a truck over to haul the toys away. Someone mentioned bringing kiddie bikes. I bet the truck will haul that too.

 Just to augment what Roadblock said. It took several emails over a couple weeks to the LAPD before I got a response directing me to their main Community Relations department. From there I was told that there was no real over-arching LAPD-sponsored toy drive so much as each division overseeing its own.

So then I contacted the community relations officer with Northeast Division, and left a message and was not contacted in return.

I would have LOVED to include the LAPD as the object of the Toy Ride's affections, but the LAPD demonstrated a marked lack of interest and communication.
