i was really interested when i heard Richtotheie was doing a daytime CRANK MOB. I'm here to tell you all that it was a slam dunk success. not only was it safe, relatively sober and much smaller (about 100 people) but we also made a great impression on a lot of kids, parents and drivers. people were generally more receptive to us simply because we were doing it in the "light of day."

the one image that's sticking with me is when molly and richie were playing jumprope with some kid on a pogo stick while his dad was chatting up the ridazz. it was so beautiful, positive and family-friendly. personally, i hope we have a lot more daylight CRANK MOBs.

i still miss the "old" CRANK MOB, but i equally look forward to how CM 2.0 has created a completely different and unique ride every month. to the naysayers who gave up on CM because it got too hectic, it might be time to think about coming back.

Let 'em stay at home and miss out. Slightly smaller CM is better CM!

I didn't make it to this cause I had to work, but glad to hear it was good :)

it was a lot of fun. right at the end ii heard some people say they were going to ride to the fake crank mob and see if there were any people there. i wonder what happened.

I still like the idea of alternating MOBs.
One weekend it's during the day, another weekend it's the same old, 500+ strong slugfest that we all know and come to either love or hate.

yeah. some people didnt get the memo and just showed up. i would hope they'd realize they didn't need richie to have a bike ride.

there should be one day ride and one night ride a month...that way it helps us working folks to at least make one of them
