Of my "outside bike culture" friends making fun of me for wearing a cycling cap. Okay I get it....I look dorky. It means a lot to me...get off my case.

I meant my cycling cap means a lot to me. Not the fact that I'm being made fun of. But still.

I say you start showing up in a poncho, they'll get off your case about your headgear. 8]

Well, in the vein of this, I really don't have that many friends up in Victorville anymore.
Most everyone I knew either moved to the Midwest, or got married, pregnant and now are too occupied.
I mean, most of all the kids that get their shit together actually up and move 1-2 years after finishing high school.
Me, I just never really had any plans to leave up until the last few, years.

My non bike culture friends give me shit for biking all together. They got off my case though when they saw me getting thinner even though I was eating 2x what they were eating.
Can't expect them to change, but can get them to STFU when they see what a positive force it is. And if they don't, just throw it in their face that they are being a bad friend!

I guess no matter what I'm exposed to, I'm ultimately going to remain a small-town, type of guy.
Sort of like that Melloncamp song, but with different small-town after different, small-town.

Just flip it on them tarmonster. I had a friend harping on me in a group of friends about my biking. I turned the subject on him, and now he was put on the defensive. Voila, subject changed something new to harp on.
Seriously though, I eat like everything in site, and I'm still losing weight, its awesome.

Tarmonster, if it makes you feel any better, I ride and I still make fun of those cycling caps. Well I don't actually make fun of them, but I think they are fucking dorky looking, so if you're going to rock it, you gotta be ready to take the heat!!!
you have by far looked the cutest in those dorky things than anyone else I have seen, however.
