2012 is going to be a fantastic year for M.R. But!! There are ways to make our beautiful community even more amazing. I know, it's hard to believe, but there's always room for improvement.
This Saturday from 4-7pm make your way to Pan Pacific Park for the All City Ridazz Summit, bring NOMZ, for this will be a pot luck picnic, and share your ideas on how to improve every aspect of this community.
How do we feel safer on the streets?
How do we increase the F U N?
How do we get more Ridazz?

For those attending the summit....Please bring as many of your spoke cards as possible as I need to photograph ones I don't have yet for an online project I'm working on. I will have my camera with me. Thanks.

hello!! hello!!
i will not be able to make this summit as work and hacienda construction are getting in the way. but i'm always down to help.
i was hoping to have a summit on the July 28 to talk about Bike Angeles. i'll keep you guys posted. please let me know what comes of this meeting and if there is anything i can do to make stuffs better or add to or whatevers.
and i will plan the next summit - Rosie, you're amazing and i'm sorry i can't be there this Saturday.

Some suggestions:
1. Don't alienate others, specially fellow women, over petty bs.
2. Try to reach out to other cyclists not in the immediate circle of friends (maybe have a post in the bike co-ops throughout the city?)
3. Keep the beer out.

Awesome! The last two Ridazz Summits we've discussed how to reach out to other cyclists. Other than posting things in different co-ops, do you have any suggestions? Or what specifically you'd like to see posted?

Can you give us a recap of what went down and accomplished at the first two summits? Some people may not know what the whole thing entails and EVERYONE is welcomed to attend....Someone the other day thought it was just for ride leaders, WHICH IS FALSE....

Super stoked. Sunday, July 29th at 3pm.
Anyone can bring anything to the table for dicussion. i will bring bike angeles.
a few things i'm working on right now:
dates confirmed: Friday, September 14 - Sunday, September 23 =)
XL will be working on a ten spoke card spread of LA. so ride leaders will create spoke cards for their ride and use whatever day their ride falls on puzzle piece of XL's spoke card of LA for the back. go on every ride and you have all of LA, go on pieces and you pieces of the puzzle.
i have been in talks with most ride leaders and the rides are being set.
there will be no website for this. no facebook. everything will happen on MR. Roadblock kicks ass! so, thank you!!!
there's rumors of portland ridazz and a few traveling LA ridazz coming back for this event!!
super stoked.
i'd like to advertise, willing to pay the ad fee, if anyone know where i can throw up the flyer that newarkhouse/lousie created and the logo that Leslie Caldera created =)
Devin and fwends will be putting together an art show for that Thursday night of all LA ridazz work.
etc. etc. etc.
so, yea..... things are moving and i'm hoping we can all work together on logistics and bring back some moar F.U.N. before this summer 2012 leaves us.
i'd really like to say, "wish it was like summer 2012" instead of "wish it was like summer 08"
if anyone has any ideas, thoughts, stuffs, shit, whatevers, bring it to the meeting and let's work together on making this happen.
oh and tour defat will be here on September 15th - kickass! yea. fourth cup of coffee and super stoked to get this all together.

I can't make this one.
May I humbly suggest that one agenda item should be to pick the date for the next summit.
I blocked out the day for the last one that got canceled and I got rescheduled out of this one. (I'm a Leo yo. Birthday comes first!) anyway, no day will ever be good for everyone. I say lock something down a least a few months in advance and people that want to be there can plan around it.
Somethng in October might be good if we want to do some planning around the toy ride.
Thats my 2¢ have a great summit.

My Women in MR presentation wasn't finished in time for the last date, so I'm glad to see that I have a few more days to get this together. Dunno if I can attend, but I should be able to at least forward my ideas.

i agree and planning one in October would be sweet. set the date and make it happen. i would love to help out with the toy ride this year.
in other news, Lee just confirmed pier pressure for the last day, Sunday, September 23. he reminds me he's not retired and totally down to make it happen!
side note: all summit meetings are not for ride leaders. i haven't led a ride in years. i don't think Rosie has either (or i'm mistaken) - either way, it's just a gathering of friends munching on sour gummy worms in the park talking about making stuffs in LA happen. whether its to protect cyclists on the streets or make events happen.
Roadblock threw one that got a number of us down at the Police Commission and they heard us - super awesome!
and the 29th is about bike angeles at some point as it can be about other things going on as well. and mostly, summit is just a great excuse to lay around a park with some old friends/making new friends and talking bikes while having sour gummy worms.
the sour gummy worms are *key!

I'm down for one in October. I'd love to help out with ACTR again this year.
The summit is NOT only for leaders. It's NOT only for Ridazz. This summit is for anyone on a bike that has any idea on how to make the streets more safe/fun for all of us.
And yes, sour gummy worms ARE key.

- patches are going to be made by Jackie
- MR header to be changed to "Bike Angeles" this week
- XL doing "best picture of LA" contest for full spread spoke cards
- meeting with Alec next week to plan fun. probably will happen at the hacienda
- Devin is working on art show night (Thursday, 20th of September)
- Krista has 2nd Friday MR ride
- Donnie Pepper is putting together HUGE Polo Day on Sunday the 16th of September (we may need places to put up visiting polo players - if interested, let me know)
it's early in the morning, i can't remember everything. but i have been working on all of these items and more. As soon as i get a minute, I will do a full outline of Bike Angeles and post it in the Ride Calendar ------>
