Tour de Palm Springs, February 9

I've never gone somewhere specifically to ride an event. Palm Springs has been experiencing warmer, drier weather than we have here - so let's get the heck out of town!
I'm planning to register for the 25-mile route. It seems more interesting than the 55-mile route, costs less, and starts later. Plus, we can always do it twice! Registration increases $10 on February 1. If you're broke, you can probably ride without registering, and just not use the SAG stops.
I am going with three friends already - heading out after rush-hour Friday evening, and staying with a friend in PS. Since none of us have a vehicle, we will likely be renting a pick-up with room for bodies & bikes. Or, does anyone else have an idea for something larger, that can transport a bunch of us? We're gonna throw a little dinner party at our host's house Saturday night, so do let me know if you're around.
What is this about (from the site): Are helmets mandatory?
Yes, this is a street ride and helmets are required by California State law.
That's only for minors, right? Weird.

I am down! I have a car and room for 2-3 bikes. Do you think there is tent space to be had?

There is tent space everywhere, isn't there?! I'm sure you could find. Do you have anyone you want to camp with?

I have gear, but it looks like a busy weekend already for most of my friends who ride. So that would mean I could bring 3 other Ridazz and their bikes.

Well, so far my team (Cat Shack Ciclistas, if you want to join us when you register) is only 3...and our bikes. You can transport 4 humans plus 4 bikes?! If so, we would cancel our car rental and come with you. If there are just 4 of us, we may even be able to host you at my friend's house - I just have to be sure she is cool hosting someone I don't actually know!

Our *fourth wheel* just bailed because she found out she has to work. Boo-hoo.
If anyone would like to buy her entrance fee from her (it was $40, but they're now going for $50, but whatever you want to trade, as it's just going to waste, anyway. This also means that we have room for one more body and bike in our vehicle. So, hit me up if you wanna join us. We're departing from Hollywood around 7pm tomorrow, returning either Sunday night or early Monday morning (more likely the former), depending on the needs of our crew.
It's gonna be warmer & sunnier in Palm Springs, this cool, wet weekend. I'm jus' sayin'...
