does anyone have a clue how many miles this was total? I hear those that stuck it out til the end got home at 10am. Will someone please recount what happened after the Rose Bowl????
reply
My computer said it was about 40 miles by the time I got home to the Westside.

i have no idea what we did - exactly. hopefully pikshures will shed some light. i remember an insane downhill. it just kept going and going and going. i remember a giant park we didn't explore but took over this HUGE bridge. i remember more downhill. i remember a pause at 711 - where we regrouped before a giant climb to the top of this mountain, YES mountain. Mt. St. ROBOTZ0707077707. i remember cuddle puddles and a nap and watching the sun rise. and then i remember the way home.
this trip, it was more like OZ. the yellow brick road led us back to where there were showers and pillows to rest our heads. but it was not a rush to get there, though we hustled. it was more "in amazement" and pure exhaustion that we wore out the morning. breakfast was delicious and we even made it full circle. those 9 (briefly) and then there were 8 - the final 7, akshually - remember the morning well - what we did, is ours, it's memory will be embedded in my mind forever.
but what makes me smile, is when i am old, and can no longer pedal, this ride - adventure - will be one of my most favorite to remember. all the way up until i crawled into my bed and passed out.
next time, i suggest staying until the very end.

Well, a group of 8 westsiders left before you guys headed out to the Rose Bowl, and we did just over 30 miles on the way back. I know we did 10 miles to get to Wilshire/Western from the start, but I have no clue how much we rode while in Pasadena.
Either way, this was ridiculous, I thought getting home at 4:30am was bananas, then I hear the rest of the group didn't get in til 10am...

You gotta remember, Robotz is the party that rides hard and ends as all the regimen-oriented, tweekend warriors are throwing on their kits.
As far as my new job goes, it's like starting at the bottom of the totem-pole after years of enjoying a free lunch.
Nothing but, "midweekers" for me at this point.

So amazing. This is definitely my favorite weekend ride. Staying until the end = major win.
When my mom let me into the house (I was too tired to find my keys) her jaw dropped, and she was like , "What happened to you? You look terrible!"

I think we did about 30-35 miles in total that night, give or take your distance too and from CM park.
I left w/ E-roc (thank you for guiding us home) and a few others from Mt. St R0b0tz around 5am, I think. I got home around 6am. I woke up around 1 because my twin cousins were banging on my door, I let them in, we're talking, and they just start laughing. Like uncontrollably laughing. I ask them, wtf are you laughing at?
They say, "you look like you got hit by a bus, what the hell did you do last night?!?" I smiled and proceeded to explain to them the greatness that was r0b0tz.

Nothing.
The rest, however, is old news and I just need something else to bitch and moan about.
The realization that shit freight-levels have pretty much brought my attempts at getting back into the truck to a stand-still has left a bitter, taste in my mouth for a couple of years.

uhh correction, i've been riding as a roadie before i started riding as a rida and a few 60 milers? 60 is an easy day for me, 40 is a normal day, 130s are my challenge days and in the past year have traveled at least 10k miles not to mention the 1500 i did on a bike i got a month and a week ago.
and i think i would much rather be in defend for a roadie, than just any normal rida (at least when it comes to riding) because some of the ridazz just don't know how to ride!
