So, aside from myself, who else here is pretty much kept from doing anything MR-related for the weekend, time-being, etc.,?
I'm slowly jumping back into the gym habit and occupying myself with finding better, or any for that matter, work.
Eventually, I'm probably going to end up benching 250-300, running some good distances, and end up knocking some dude-bruh out in a bike-vs-liftkit dispute if I get any more, bored-outta-my-mind.

Can't you train it from the desert to LA?
there is a ride tonight starting at Echo Park. No money just means, you will have to utilize more creative methods of getting to rides.

The only train up here is the Amtrak; Southwest Chief, and the conductor brought up some drama regarding the dimensions of my bike in the folded position.
As far as actually coming down to rides right now is concerned, I'm not too bothered by it as much as I was last year.
Rides will always be going down and once I'm back on my feet, employment-wise, I could always utilize my days off to travel down there and assemble a ride.
Another, more permanent solution would be to get my ass moved into someplace in the IE.
With Metrolink access and plenty of security work, life will become more enjoyable.
For now, I'll just roll with the punches.

Yeah, a task more easier said than done.
I would have to say the "prime-difficulty" of getting rides started up in this area would be the weather.
Consistent, high-velocity headwinds and 10-20 degree temperatures would scare off normals.
Then there's the "car-dominance" attitude of everyone up here.
One good example would be the deserted, bike-racks at the local college.
Everyone fighting for a parking space, but not willing to talk each other into forming a ride-crew, or something to that effect.
Anywho, we'll see what happens when I start dropping leaflets.
Perhaps that will churn the butters of curiosity.

Hey, if I lived down there, Cahuenga and that bike-path that parallels the 5 would become my daily thoroughfares.
However, despite what I said about Amtrak, I enjoy utilizing the Metrolink and the Redline because I'm a railfan.

Sounds like it time to move to DTLA or the Westside!!!
So many security jobs around, but you might have to bust a few heads from time to time, I'm sure you wouldn't mind doing that.

I guess it's safe to say that I should stop being in denial and that I definitely want to move down there now.
Perhaps I could join the NoHo, Yellow Squad, or even the DTLA "Purple Partrol"!!!

Concerning Amtrak I think maybe different conductors have different attitudes about bikes, but when we came back to LA from San Diego using the Surfliner, all the normal bike racks were filling up, a conductor saw our problem, and hooked us up with an unused baggage room and we stuffed like 5 or 6 bikes in there.

Well, I took the Southwest Chief on two, separate occasions and the same conductor was on board each time.
