If where going to Hollywood, can we go up Multiview drive, starts off Cahunga, at Broadlawn st. where Universal Nissan is at, a great climb to Mullholand drive. As its named Multiview as it is a switchback climb with level rest spots for the weak. And how about Nichols cyn down to Hollywood blvd.can also go this way on the way back. Cahunga sucks to much traffic, no shoulder, and its to short. I ride this route quite often and would like others to know about it. Good pavment, low traffic,

JUNES COTTER PINS ? Ya I still have some left over from WWII
Be carefull trying to remove installed ones it requires a press.
I also have the press. Sometimes use of a file is needed to get the new ones to fit just right. What kind of relic are you riding ?
Morey at Bike Factory may also have pins, He's old school.
The route has a few short steep sections. Fixies may need to tack like a sailing ship if your gear inch is to big, or wear some walking shoes for those sections. Better yet bring some gears.
The decents are not that steep
Don't worry we will wait for you slow fixie guys at the top.

To Bicykillers... t h a n k y o u for the most E EEEEEEEE P PPPPPP I IIIIII C CCCCC ride I have ever done on a fixed gear. It was so full of awesomeness it totally renewed my passion for cycling plus some, and literally almost made me cry during the drive home just thinking how much fun I had spinning like a madman on those winding downhills. Though I do still hate you people for the 9%+ grade climbs. That route may have been regular routes for you guys... but I have only been cycling since the summer of '08 and it was also my first time in that area.. To me, tonight's ride was the best ride of my life as of yet. You have no idea how grateful I am with providing me such an awesome life experience I will remember for years to come.

CHINA TOWN COMMANDO ROUTE.
This route would be ok for strong fixie riders
Griffith Park to Riverside Dr. Riverside to the end at 110frwy
Then secret abandoned bike path to china town,
Broadway to Ceaser Chaves west that turns into Sunset Blvd.
Sunset to Hollywood blvd. west on Hollywood blvd to
Nichols cyn up Nichols to Mullholland. then back to the Valley.
Weak fixie riders can go over Cahunga to go back to the Valley

As it was, the ride ended at 12:30-ish. That's plenty late for me - I had to go back to work, then be up early for an edit. Leaving at 9:45 would have gotten us back at 1:00. For a ride that is supposed to leave at 9:00, 9:15-9:20 is a long enough wait IMO, since some people show up before 9 (it says meet at 8:45.)

Your fork is probably carbon with a steel steerer I would think. Have not seen a threaded carbon fork(wish some hipster would try this) Still, no more super bunny hops off of curbs. I know your smooth like butta, but don't want you to have to buy some new teeth.

I think metioning that ijunes new fork was steel steerer tube and carbon legs does imply that there are carbon 1" threaded forks avaiable. That is no question. Implying that I was looking for a carbon threaded steerer tube that exists. Which I think not, unless it has a metal sleeve bonded to it. Thanks.

Junu, I'm pretty sure I saw someone riding the GT today in hollywood, going east on sunset between highland and la brea. It was the same color, same looking size and kinda dirty. I also noticed a blue sticker on the frame I just cant remember where.
There was a clean cut white dude riding it, he looked like he was in his mid/late 20's, short black hair that kinda stood up, black glasses, white t-shirt, black shorts, I cant really tell how tall he was because he was riding the bike but I think around 5'8-6ft. He also had the new york kryptonite u-lock in his back pocket.
He was riding kind of aggressive, but for some reason the bike didn't look like it was fitted for him, he looked really awkward riding it.

Thanks for pointing that out pretzels... a pretty depressing article. Got me sympathizing with the little bastards. As much as I hate coyotes chasing me, I'd rather they not be trapped and killed like that.
canadienne01.27.09 - 11:22 pm
reply
Let's got get em! Tell the coyotes we demand to speak to their leader. Once we reach negotiations we'll steal their pets and raise them as civilized, functioning members of society. Then, years, later, they will return to their families. Over tea, the coyotes will watch in wonderment as the pets demonstrate the importance of underground pluming, democratic rule, and the differences between chomsky's society compared to hobbs hallucination of hierarchy.
Jerry, one of the stolen pets, will become addicted to Oxycontin, and will treat everyone like an asshole. His wife cries at night, he lies awake on the edge of the bed. The fact that he was the pet of a coyote now liberated fucks with his mind. A steady decline, ultimately resulting in the sale of his motorcycle and a wider waistline.
"To thaaaaa mooon!" he exclaims, striping off his clothes and vanishing into the friscilating moonlight corduroyed by dark trees and peering eyes of the coyotes. Grifith Grifith had no fucking idea it would come to this.

oh well.
i was digging about in my garage and found parts of my 105 set up anyway. i have everything except a crankset, pedals, front derailleur, and also missing one brake lever.

Ride report 2 /19 /09
A small turnout of 8 riders, 6 from the old Athena thursday mtn crew showed.
Factory Niner rider Ron claimed KOM points at the top of La Tuna
with the others close behind.
The pace remained fast with only 5 riders compleating the ride.
None of the Catuday under 23 sqaud showed ?
Seems the masters riders dominate Bicykillers.

We can go any way you want. I don't give a care.
What are some good boy names?
BICYKILLER02.26.09 - 1:49 pm

ok, we will go down riverside/alameda and then turn onto victory to get to griffith park. that way i can drop off duderinas records at home without thrashing them on the ride in case i crash or something. this way everyone wins.

I want to thank everyone that has ever come out to a Bicykillers ride. Every single person has helped contribute to the group's speed and strength. The whole reason I started Bicykillers was because I wanted to get stronger and faster and all of you have helped me achieve this.
I really feel like Bicykillers is my family, and I'll do anything for you guys.
Thanks for a great year of 'Killing and there's so much more to come in Year 2!
TO THAAAAA MOOOOON!!!!
