For a while now i have been a driver/cyclist freelance courier/messenger for SPEEDY ALEX messenger & atty. svcs.
TOMORROW I START FULL-TIME AS A BIKE MESSENGER IN DTLA!!!
DTLA will once again be my office, playground and my empire!!!
This guy i used to work for is a really nice guy. He will pay you commission and depending on the distance n time frame of the job you will have the option to use your bike or car. I'll advise you it's 98% car and 2% bike. You however maybe handling all car courier runs mostly. So if you have a car and have a cel phone you can do this. if you make 80 dollars a day about 10 goes to gas but if your wise and use your bike for the large timeframe jobs you can make all the commission without any gas out of pocket expenses. Only responsible safe drivers please with a strong drug-free work ethic please. call me asap if you are interested and ill give you alex's number. it's bound to be busy tomorrow.

Do you know if he's employing ppl. for Century City messaging.
I go to school on the Wside, so, it would work best. Otherwise, maybe I can do it till the 08-25 which is when school starts. Keep me posted.

I've been considering getting a job as a bike messenger. I really need a job right now. But since I no longer have a car I guess it won't work out =[

i got a taste of it last fall and winter. from october 07 through January 08...(lil did i know i was hooked) February was full of withdrawals.... then i broke my ankle....
then in april when i was almost recovered i was unnemployed and picked up a freelance account w/ alex. My point is.... i had to be in dtla doing some official business to have found out about the opening....
I couldn't have done this without Alex. 3% of the jobs i get from Alex are bike runs in or around the dtla area. I happened to be doing that there on monday and it was unfortunately the only gig the whole day. But this one was awesome. it was from DTLA to West Hollywood. The pick up was at 1000 Wilshire n went to 9255 sunset blvd (just beyond Doheny).
I deciced to ride back to dtla, well sorta, i rode back to H&H n took the red to 7th & Metro Ctr. but i hung out in dtla, got some new chucks and a free haircut from the Texas Cutie im seeing. She kept me in DTLA longer for suggesting that, godbless her. So after my haircut i heard of this bike messenger job lead and jumped on it and went to the company directly, sweatie, grungy... looking the part. the lady i spoke to scheduled an interview w me the very next day.
The next day i was dressed up messenger. knickers w folded legs, suit vest, tie and dress shirt and matching biker cap. I think she also liked the fact i dressed up for the interview. so don't get cocky and dress like a rockstar/messenger for the interview and make sure you don't stink. i get a lot a shit for dressing up for the interview but that's just my style and i think i made an impression different from the rest, but that's just me. you be who you wanna be.
the point here is...
that you should give alex a call. working for him will help you get closer in the loop of information in this scarce and competitive field. Example of how competitive? I beat a guy to the job w/ my interview 2 days ago. Today they fired someone and he got called to take this spot asap. So in one hour the lead was there and then it was gone.

I see all your questions but won't answer them. call me or alex if you are seriously interested. if you are serious u will call. if you can only help him out for a lil while then that's fine, he needs the help asap. so stop talking and start doing.

im fine darling. thanks for asking. i was just banged up more than anything. i do have to admit that this tumble has activated some pain in some joints from old injuries. They're like; "hi!, remember me?"
other than that im doing fine muscle stiffness is leaving the body now, from adrenalized moment i guess. the awesome thing is that after a while i think we've all sorta learned how to fall and take cover when a crash is eminent. it's a weird cool new instinct.
