No, she lives in that industrial valley situated between the DTLA area and the western-most reaches of the SGV.
Downey, there's all sorts of ways to do it.

The North-South routes are quite numerous and typically run into Washington, 6th St/Whittier and all the other West-East routes that will lead you into the heart of Hell-A.
Atlantic, Alameda, and a host of others are at your disposal.
I don't actually live down there, but worked down there long enough to know the escape routes and bug-out points.

 I was trying to find the route I had from echo park to downey...it was super flat, passed by a small people village, and passed the first mcdonalds.. we did get lost around some points but overall it was fun. I'll post it if I find it
