Think you know your way around LA? Tell me what's the quickest route. Santa Monica to K-Town.

Doesn't the bike path cover a good amount of that? Just head east-ish on the balona creek bike path until you get to Jefferson, to redondo, to venice, to Normandie...
Someone may have a better route but that's I got from looking at the LA Bike route map.

if he wants to go to the bike kitchen, why you takin him all the way down to Pico, RB?
I would say do what RB says, but hang left on La Brea, right on 4th street to Vermont, left then left on Melrose yup.

Pico at La Brea is north of venice... if I really had time I would suggest a route taking you paralell to vermont heading north on the west side of vemront that would connect with heliotrope but.... I really need to work... I hate myself for not working.

actually I wouldn't even do that
I'd take La Brea to 4th, left on oxford, right on melrose

If you feel like climbing take Normandie. ha

RB's route is pretty much what I take from Mar Vista. Another option is to cut up Bagley from Venice, cut over to Castle Heights (they don't link up exactly, but close enough) then
Castle Heights --> Wilshire --> San Vicente --> 6th --> proximity of Kitchen
This is for speed mind you. Otherwise stay off Wilshire (take Cloverfield) and get off 6th once you get to La Brea.
