Starting in Santa Clarita, Stage 7, sponsored by Herbalife, will travel 88.9 miles to Pasadena where the stage will conclude with five circuits around the legendary Rose Bowl. En route the riders will battle through two Herbalife Sprints and a California Travel & Tourism King of the Mountains climb to the category 3 Millcreek Summit (4906 feet).
ANYBODY want to organize a ride from here central los angeles to the race in pasadena. we must leave los angeles by 8:30 or 9am and absolutely no later than 9:30.
let's discuss.

I want to go, but I want to check out the angeles crest hwy area. Anyone know what the deal is with that? I mean is this going to be like tour de france where you can post up where you find room or are they pretty anal about it?

ok cool. I'm going to drive up there. I just want to post up somewhere nice and quiet so I can read until the race comes through.
Think I'm going to go to where Big Tujunga rd meets Angeles crest hwy...

yeah I understand that hahaha. but I had already planned to drive since yesterday.

I would love to ride to Pasadena with a bunch of ppl to catch the finish, but this way is more studiously efficient for me, so yeah. lol

that place you're gonna post out at... what part of the race is that the king of the mountain climb? that would mean you may only be able to see that portion of the race n miss the circuit laps around the bowl no???

the climbs are where you will get to see the riders for the longest, if that makes sense. if you post up anywhere on flat ground, they are just going to fly by you at 30mph and be gone in the blink of an eye.

yeah, that's what I figured, plus Pasadena's gonna be hectic, I won't be able to shit done there. figured it'd be cool to post up on the side of the road with a book and bowl, wait for them to come.
does anyone think that angeles forest hwy is going to be closed right now?
should I take Big Tujunga up into there or what?
p.s. I'm leaving soon if anyone wants to join or meet me up there...

I couldn't make it, but did anyone catch the MASH team finish? Were they late or did they arrive with the rest of the racers? Just curious.

We saw some Mash riders go by from our vantage point, riding the course before the racers got there.

I was bummed I didn't see Lance...they went by so fucking fast...after 7 years watching him on TV in the tour de france I wanted to see him in person..
Saw George Hincapie though! he was up front. I always liked George better than Lance.
