im getting one to learn it, i have a fairly good space for trackstands and unicycles. i actually can wheelie and turn the lights off with my front wheel. pretty awesome. but yeah i would love to do unicycle races.
truth is a few of us are pitching in cash to buy a tandem.
and also a converted roadbike for a raquell-style music bike. oh and wheelies with a basket just looks too fucking cool.
I've got an old Schwinn that I got while I was in college. Never really got the hang of it, but I kinda gave up quickly. I don't think it really matters what brand you go with but the Schwinn's seem to be built really rigid and strongly. The only thing to look for is a good saddle that isn't blown out and maybe a specific tire?. The only tips I have from when I was learning was to start off either between two walls so you can get the hang or have two people walk along with your hands on their shoulders. Keep your head up and back straight, always looking forward. I could get 20 feet or so before I'd lose it.

So... I'm going to get crucified for resurrecting such an old thread but Handbone... did you ever learn to ride? I've been at it for decades and enjoy doing the more chill of the ridezz here.
