Ride to "Off-The-Grid" night at Space Ark Gallery in Highland Park.
Ride from wherever you to the event or ride with us from Silverlake, leaving from Benton Way & Sunset Blvd (laundrymat parking lot) at 6:30 PM.
Every new and full moon The Space Ark Gallery is energy-conscious and candle-lit by shutting of the power and going "Off-The-Grid". This series of events features live music, spoken words and living foods. New moon gatherings feature the latest emerging solo acoustic songwriters while full moon gatherings
function as open floor expressions of spontaneous audience participated journeys into discovering found sound.
Come Wednesday the 26th with an instrument and a
candle. Or just bring yourself and we'll provide the
rest. Enjoy a glass or our home-brewed sun tea and
experience entertainment the way it was made before
the invention of the alternating current.

It was a sublime evening. For much of the ride we were heading right torwards the full moon which was low in the sky.
At the Space Ark Gallery they had about 30 candles lit and someone had brought about 30 instruments to share - mostly of the exotic type. We had a spacey ambient jam session.
The instruments included an aquaphone, marimba type instruments, rattling type instruments (seed pods, peices of metal, etc.), "ocean" box, stir-the-pot percussion, thunder maker, rain maker, bird calls and some more normal type insturments - including harmonicas, drums, a guitar and a auto-harp.
