i suggest camping at
lake cahuilla to whomever is going to coachella. it's wayyy cheaper than the coachella campsite and they're not as strict. you don't even need a reservation. they put most of the people who show up the first day of coachella in the overflow section, so most of the people around you are partying it up. no need to worry about some family calling the cops on you.
it's less than 5 miles away from the polo field, so a bike ride to the show might be cool! only thing is, i don't know where you could lock up.

Last time I went in 2005 I just slept in my car in the parking lot. Wasn't hassled at all. That may have changed, though.

When is coachella this year?
I was able to get my bike into the polo grounds last year. Its fun to ride around to the shows and you can freelock or lock to a firend if we have enough people.
I'm down to camp off-site and ride every day to the polo grounds. The roads out there are pretty nice and there's not a lot of traffic.
Coachella with a Gang of Ridazz would be epic.
What are they charging for tix this year?

If you can't break in, there are also usually a ton of people selling their extra tickets on the cheap.

@ Larsen: you won't believe this but the second year it was put on I had a roadie friend who would unload/load the instruments and help set up the stage for the bands. Well, I got in with him... but later on that day we somehow got lost from each other and I had no pass with me. I tried in vain to tell them what had happened but for the love of me they werent believing it and I couldnt get a hold of my buddy (I dont have a cell phone and neither does he)
Anyhow.... I managed to get in, by get this, walking in backwards... YES YOU READ RIGHT. I was walking in backwards as people were coming in and going out... and was not stopped.
Then I hear about some other friends who showed up the second day and they said a whole mob of people climbed over some fence and it was too many to find all of them.
Yep... there are a ton of ways to get in. Shit, you could even dig a hole, lol.
But again, I don't plan on driving for 4 hours and some change and not getting in so I will have to be resourceful again this year.
