Too many new ridazz go on big group rides not knowing how to not be an asshole. Leave no trace, hold your line, don't swerve, keep the left lane open, don't steal, help out a fellow rida....these are things NEW and veteran ridazz should read and/or refresh in their minds.

When I started riding in L.A., midnight ridazz founders set us straight with kind encouragement not to be dicks and to make sure we can keep riding in peace by shouting out on rides.
I learned what's up, and I try to pass it on on rides I go on (not mamy these days). If you know what's up amd want to keep rides free of crazy ass cops, etc. - take it on yourself to do some friendly suggestions to people who don't know that keeping a straight line is critical to them not getting in a horrendous crash, and that littering sucks, etc.

It's one thing telling a newbie to hold a line or stay in the right lane but how do you tell a person who is drunk off their ass or so fucked up without pissing them off and telling you to fuck off??? It's hard to get through to those peeps................... Their the ones that ride all over the road swerving in and out of the crowd and hanging out in left lane in front of cars getting honked at ........... I cut back on the rides lately because there seems to more and more idiots out there ... I personally don't want to go out on a ride with many friends( most of you) and be taken out by some stupid drunk who swerves into me cause he's so messed up ..... I've had many close calls lately..... Also how do you tell some drunk ass to pick up his beer cans without them getting all up in your face for telling them that they tossed it down on the ground.....

It's all fine and well for the seven or seventy of us frequenting the forum but the audience we need to reach is probably reading this.
I'll remind there has been off and on talk in the recent past about putting together a Ridazz Ten Commandments list, which it would be encouraged to be put on the back side of Spoke cards to get the word out to a wider audience. Or blare them out of a megaphone at the start of a ride. I dunno. Bottom line: It's gotta go beyond this forum.

Well I'm a new bee for all this night ride shit.... but it looks like if there's so many assholes in the rides you guys should start a secret midnight ridazz society... you can weed out the assholes that way by inviting the riders that actually enjoy the rides... this thing should be a secret thing, kept tightly nit and different active chapters for every region should be started

I commend your efforts to raise awareness of proper rida ettiquette. Alas, tonight is Halloween and I fear there may be much mayhem.

last couple of rides i been on (all for halloween) i havent seen a single fall... except for one... but wasnt much of a fall. just let people know that what you're saying is as much for their good as it is for yours. it's proven to work for me time and time again.

I try occasionally. It seems to have been lost, just like many of the folks who started & nurtured MR in the early days.
Kinda sad, but things change, I suppose.

@mr rollers
we had a theft on taco tuesdays a couple of weeks ago, and i've got to say that XL handled the kids wonderfully. different people take feedback differently. if you're used to heirarchy in your family, you're not going to take some shit from some average joe telling you not to steal, but you will respect when a ride organizer tells you, "if you want to enjoy the party, youre welcome, but if you're going to steal, you cant be with us."
it also comes down to bigger rides are more difficult to control. if someone gets banned from taco tuesday, there's no way to miss them. if someone gets banned on CRANK MOB, there's no way to enforce it. dont lose hope. it might not be just like it was when you had a core group of like minded people, but when you bring in more diverse groups, you have to broaden your methods of dealing with shit.
yay, diversity....

Oh sorry, maybe I should have been more clear; I was really just commenting on this part:
"When someone says "Midnight Ridazz!!"
You say "RIDE ON!!"
But what you say is true, and I haven't given up coming on rides, although for a while now I've been generally happier on smaller outings.

the midnightridazz 10 commandments on the back of spoke cards is a good idea, as is having someone remind everyone on a megaphone

I hear, on the streets of Laredo, that richtotheie forcibly stopped a thief on C.R.A.N.K. MOB last after he tried to bolt past a security guard with some stolen beer.
True?
So it CAN happen on larger rides. It's harder, and it takes a greater commitment on the part of ... everyone. Because you can't meet everyone before the ride starts n stuff, so there's less a feeling of accountability from each individual rida. But it can happen.
Next time I hear "Midnight Ridazz!" called out, I'm calling back "RIDE ON."
