Passed on the Right by a Motorcycle Cop in the Bike Lane

This ever happen to you? It happened to me the other night and it scared the living piss out of me-because my first experience of it was hearing a really loud engine bearing down on me from behind and not slowing down. I thought I was about to get reduced to a grease spot by an inattentive car driver until I actually saw the fucker swoop by me on the right and then get back into traffic.
I hope those were some high priority donuts. (His actual business couldn't have been,because he didn't have his lights or siren on before or after.)

Incidentally, I'm aware that a lot of cops these days are into yogurt and granola at Starbucks. I'm taking this guy's particular physique into account here. Dude was straight OG Winchells kinda motorcycle cop.

Sgt Krumer will tell you there will be an in-depth investigation into the cause of the collision, involving detailed analysis of dash cam footage and the circumstances of the crash and the conditions at the scene.
In the real world, the officer will book you with speeding, reckless endangerment, failure to yield, or anything else he can think of; other responding officers will side with their comrade; and the courts will support the officer without fail to uphold the system's image of superiority and infallibility.
But the department and courts will always publicly deny this practice.
I say this from my involvement in the motorcycle community. Cops have a history of hitting motorcyclists out of negligence and using these methods to pass the blame, even when all evidence shows the officer to be at fault (for example, officer attempting a left turn fails to yield right of way to oncoming traffic, gets broadsided by motorcycle that he (surprise!) "couldn't see") . And the cops don't even have a beef with motorcyclists... how do you think they'll treat you on a bicycle?
