i've had good experiences ordering from them (brakesets, fork). their prices are alright but the nicer stuff still costs a bit. good source of framesets, though.

Bike Island does sell some good-value frames like the Jury, which has track ends and good fender clearance and would make a great commuter or all-arounder. I'm really tempted to buy one. They also sell the Mercier Kilo TT frameset without decals.
There's also some intriguing cheap unbranded carbon road frames too. I happen to subscribe to the theory that 99 percent of all carbon frames are made in the same three Chinese factories, so that makes sense to me. Frames really are commodities these days.
They caused quite a stink last year by selling some Rivendell production frames for near cost, but other than that they seem pretty decent.

bikeisland.com is a sister store to bikesdirect.com.
They bought the naming rights to a bunch of old bike brands (Motobecane, Mercier, Windsor, etc.) and now use those as their house brands.

They just buy the same stuff from China as everyone else, but instead of marking it up 50% and selling it to a bike shop that marks it up another 100%, they just mark it up 50% and sell it to you.
