I have a conversion right now but I have been meaning to upgrade right now. I want something that has road geometry and not track, since I will only use it to commute. Does anyone have some good suggestions? I am looking at the Gary Fisher triton or the BIanchi San Jose

Make a tall bike. I used mine as a commuter. 3-speeds.

Or a boneshaker. Who doesn't love arriving to work in style?

Well, it's track, not road geo, but i've been commuting on a Mercier Kilo TT (with a single-speed freewheel) for a year and a half (more than 10K miles) and love it. In that time/mileage, the only components I've had to replace are the front/rear hubs and bottom bracket. The price is certainly right: $349 (includes shipping). Check it out.
