Above the Influence bullshit

I'm getting sick of seeing this shit being played all over almost every channel, being placed in every magazine and whatnot.
The thing they're getting at now is that smoking weed will give you bad grades and lead to a half-assed life.
Being someone that never has and never will use the reefer, I strongly disagree with whatever point they're trying to pass.
Reason being that I have a pretty simple job and never was that high of an achiever when it came to academia, but y'all already know that.
I'm just getting tired of certain groups and persons pinning life-failure on the usage of a rather, harmless plant.

Especially when commercials glamourize alcohol, which anyone with half a brain knows is 100x more harmful than marijuana

Really though, what on the tv are you referring to ?
Theres a social stigma ofcourse and yes alcohol being the socially accepted normal means of stimulation is bonkers. Alcohol has a much more damaging & much more serious effect on one physically and very very much mentally, as where reefer's is much more socially damaging.
either way drink up smoke up who cares, it's 2009 on a saturday. read more books, drop the bomb, save more children.
p.s the only time i'd ever self-medicate with alchy is for a gunshot wound or an aching heart.

I'm glad I finally kicked the reefer habit. Going on 30 days now and my mind is clearing up dramatically.... everyone will have a different experience with it... its cool to get into for a while and it does help you open your mind up and its fun, but years later it becomes a drag on your life and you lose whole parts of your memory... it becomes this thing that you look forward to all day... something of a goal rather than an enhancement on the way to another goal that it once was. People will swaer me wrong and that is fine, they haven't run the course yet... I decided for myself that I had enough... I don't judge anyone either way and I never did back when I too was nailed to the X (if you aint SXE now, you never were haha). Enjoy it but try to realize when it becomes
the goal in your life....

I hate the above the influence commercial where the girl is named Lindsay and her dog (a beagle) tells her he wants her to quit smoking weed.
Shit creeps me out ...I have 2 beagles.

The problem with drugs in our society, it that people are not encouraged to have a healthy relationship with them. Either your doing body shots at a frat party or your going to AA and you can't even take a sip.
People can have weed be a beneficial aspect to to their lives. But for most of us, it was approached as a social taboo, something we were getting away with. Something that was shrouded in lies.
Commercials that tell you this is ALL BAD for you yet we see and know people who have it as an element in their lives. So we know all that hype is a bunch of bullshit.
What else are they lying about? Speed? X, LSD? Crack?
There is no way to know. Because of the hysteria, and the scorched earth tactics of the drug war, its really difficult for people to get honest accurate information about the risks and benefits of different drugs.
Its never a bad idea to clear ones head.
or to devote some time to purifying the body of one drug or another.
In the end though it's all about finding some balance in life, whatever that is for each person and their own mental/ chemical/ social makeup.
But that message doesn't fit so well on a billboard or match the goals of groups that want to scapegoat drungs for all of societies problems rather than dealing with the factors in a society or a persons' life that leads to the abuse or misuse of drugs.

Well Roadblock, that's all fine and clear.
But the fact of the matter is even with maintaining a zero drug-use ethic, I feel my performance-drive has somewhat been hindered from the get-go.
Too much drama early on in my life, no one useful to look up to.
Instead of hitting the pipe, or hitting the books, I instead decided to hit the horror-novels, dvd's and let the path of ImaginationLand take it's path.
In school, you had your nerds, you had your jocks, you had the down'n'outs, I was the guy doodling an epic gun-battle with Ash going against the undead horde in pre-Algebra.
