Shimano Nexus 8 vs. Nuvinci CVP

I'm looking to switch to an internal geared hub for my commuter bike.
Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the Shimano Nexus 8 speed Red Band or the Nuvinci CVP rear hubs?
Just curious if anyone has any first hand experience with these hubs. I know the nuvinci is fairly new and there probably won't be much first hand accounts on that one.
Thanks.

ive got the older shimano 7 (coaster brake) and i love it. i would have no idea how it compares though and dont know much about reliability since i have maybe only 500 miles on it.

besides the weight I read that the nuvinci has a constant friction thing going on. It looks pretty amazing though based on a Leonardo Da Vinci design

im a total car nerd and when i first learned about CVT in automobiles i got really into them, they are an awesome idea. the technology has been around for a long time used here and there. these days Nissan uses them in alot of their newer cars, i know in the 60s a dutch automaker DAF had used them. Its really cool to see one on a bike.
