I've got the Weinmann DP18s, and they're solid.
They are way cheaper than Velocity, but they're also heavier, and don't have the Velocity label.
I bought them online from shop.bellsbikeshop.com, and they came straight and have stayed straight, which is saying a lot, as I'm not exactly a lightweight.
Also cool is that you can get a wheelset with a machined front rim and a solid rear, which is nice if you're running a fixie with a front brake.

I got a Deep V wheel-set at O20 for $150.
Not sure if they are Weinman though ... I took the stickers off on the first day ... and I didn't bother to remember the brand name.
These wheels have been trued just once since i stared riding them in early august. I have ridden these things all over and pretty hard. I ride off curbs, i've taken them on wolfpack. I've put 100s of miles on them and they are still rock solid.
I ♥ Taiwan (and O20).
