Hey guys! well i'm new to biking and i really dont know where there are bike shops. i would really appreciate it if you guys could tell me some good ones.

or Bicycle Kitchen right by LACC
charge around 7 dollars an hour plus parts which are really cheap.
its mainly do it yourself but they help you out if you need any help.

 Depends where you at.

Echo park cyclery is new, run by downtown messengers, and awesome.

The one-two combo of O20 and the 'Kitchen in the bike district will usually take care of ya.

Bike oven holds down a similar spot in lincoln park, and the bikerowave is a great westside option...

 then you want echo park or bike district depending on how far you wanna go.

the only place i'd add is 'el maestro' on main between 8th and 9th...they don't have a great selection of parts, but if you need some quick labor nearby they're a good option.

The bicycle district is located at Heliotrope and Melrose... That's where you'll find both the Bicycle Kitchen and Orange20 They are both busy and open late so check the website for hours...

The Bike Oven is awesome too. Really good people there and would totally recommend going there.
