this guy was wearing a helmet, but it didn't stop some piece of shit good for nothing person from hitting him and leaving him.

you hear that Villaraigosa? if you are going to spend some political capital getting a law passed, pass stronger laws to make the streets safer. Wearing more armor isn't going to solve this kind of shit.

sorry to hear about this!

I'm pretty sure if they dedicated 1 officer to this for 1 day, they could track down the perpetrator. Stay on them to make sure they are perusing the case.

If you can get out there. Make some signs requesting witnesses.
Check out the area, see if there are surveillance cameras near by.

If the truck got a flat it could not have gotten far before changing it?
Where was the flat tire changed? Who changed it?

Is theer body damage? Did the car get taken to a body shop to cover the evidence?

Unfortunately its really hard to get the PD to investigate but if you keep bugging them and do leg work to help them, you might be able to solve this.

sorry to read this.

legislators/law enforcement, take note: help us end terrorism on our streets by being more diligent about pursuing hit and run cases. also, take instances of near-hits or motorists' threats more seriously because "it's all fun and games until it becomes a matter of life or death".
