Yesterday on the ballona creek bike path i was motoring a long at about 12-or15 mph ... hittin' a little head wind and 50 mins into my ride getting a little winded.

I hear this guy passing on my left and after he passes me i see he is on a comfort bike ... gi seat big tires and upright postion .... damn that dude is flying ... then it occurred to me he was on electric assist.

My instinct was to pick up the pace after he passed and slip into his pocket ... after a few minutes he noticed i was drafting and mentioned it. He was totally cool. and since he was a biggish guy with an upright position he made a huge pocket for me.

I rode in his slipstream for 2-3 miles at 20+ with no sweat.
He seemed tickled that somebody else was getting a charge off of his battery.

Its funny cause I've had roadies give me stink eye for trying to draft off of them on that same path. But not Mr. electric bike. he was happy as could be.

I think I got to work 5 minutes earlier than i would have.
