Spoke cards can fall out too... especially on the rear wheel with all the flexin' and twistin' and turnin' that goes on during riding... I've lost many.

Negative! I only have 1 spoke card in the RIM and I check it frequently as I value it and would hate to LOOSE it. Yet, it has eluded me. I am now over it and will maybe replace it or simply go spoke card free. Its just that card was the ONLY card I was sportin since I travel so much with my bike, I like to represent. Now... sniff sniff...

would you rather have them just take the whole bike as well?

that sucks.
it was probably some kid that doesn't even know there used to be actual jazz at the UCLA Jazz Reggae fest.
i saw some girl unsuccesfully trying to roll a joint as if it were a carne asada burrito and asking "what is Public Enemy?" and why erykah badu was wearing a Public Enemy hoodie.
it was probably someone like her that stole your card.

"A joint the size of a carne asada burrito"
Whoooooweeeee!
Uh, regarding spoke cards, I only put my extras in the wheels. The first one goes into my collection.
No one has ever swiped one from my bike, but I have had tools taken out of my seat pack and a headlight lifted, so if it ain't clamped down, it can (and will) be pinched.

I have a collection but they live safe and sound in a bookcase in my living room.
Yeah I'll have to start getting doubles so I can keep some on the bike...

I was like one of 20 folks on the Wife Bike ride, and someone had the nerve to steal my "Let's Fuck" spoke card from it.
Who the fuck steals other people's spoke cards? It's like stealing Christmas cards that were addressed to me.

Kids who just started riding with us are always jonesing for spoke cards like its the holy grail. I've had a few stolen. Think of it as a compliment to the spokecad designer. I mean if they think its cool enouhg to steal....it must be cool.
Better they steal a spokecard than steal a beer.

Ha! Somebody tried to steal my car a few weeks ago. They ended up just stealing the computer that makes the car go. At the time, I was pissed, but now I realize that it was a compliment to my good taste in cars, or computers, or something.
Anyway, I now feel honored. I wish I'd felt so honored when I was
pushing the damned thing across the street to avoid a street sweeping parking ticket, but still...
