Maoist Mondays Venice

Catchy, no? I was thinking of putting together a ride modeled after Taco Tuesdays that starts earlier and ends at Mao's Kitchen shortly before they close. Not an all-night epic event like TT or Root, but a chill Venice-Westside ride ending with great chinese food that doesnt break the bank.
Any takers?

so here's the route i was imagining....
start at mar vista park
r. on mclaughlin to bundy
bundy to wilshire
dick around brentwood
san vicente west to sunset
sunset to palisades
ride back down pch
south to venice
eat orange chicken
it's going to be cold, and there will be some hills, which means people will be hustling.

anyone interested in doing a beta ride? i think we should aim for next week. I have a very fast utility bike that can carry a small sound system.

So... here is the route I came up with:

I wanted to include Sunset and some of PCH on this ride, but if we're going to do this earlier in the evening, there's a definite danger of speeding cars. Since I really wanted to do the Bristol Ave detour, I thought we could take that small portion of Sunset.
If that turns out to be too scary, we can take San Vicente all the way down. I'll be bringing the music, so we don't need to try to be ROOT RUN. That would be a more leisurely, if slightly less scenic route.
Anyone interested in doing a BETA ride?

sounds fun. there is a tunnel that goes under PCH to the bike path right on west channel. just walk across the street once you get to the bottom of the hill then through the tunnel, walla, no PCH.
