Ok, this needs to stop. You really, really, shouldn't put "...presents" or "brought to you by..." on a Midnight Ridazz ride.
It should only be Midnight Ridazz. Only Midnight Ridazz presents Midnight Ridazz, and Midnight Ridazz brought to you by Midnight Ridazz - and no one else.
Basically don't put your name on our ride. You're welcome to organize it, that's totally awesome. But you all should keep in mind that Midnight Ridazz represents the community as a whole. "Co-branding" the 2nd Friday defeats the whole concept of a community. We might as well get a REAL sponsor, and have the ride called, "30 second from Mars's Midnight Ridazz".

One of the things that attracted me to the Dinosaur ride (MR#85) was the team behind it.
This wasn't a crew either, it was 3 individuals known making shit pop off right (in their own awesome bike nerd ways).
In the last couple of years we have seen the majority of MR 2ndFri rides, organized by bike crews, and no wonder, Its fucking difficult to corral hundreds of ridazz and keep them on route.
When I did the Worlds Biggest Bike song ... I didn't have too much help.
It worked ... but it was pretty hard a certain points.
I'm not offended by people saying "brought you by Xbikecrew" when they put on a ride.
1) it give you a sense of what the flavor will be
2) you know who is in charge, and the reputation of a person or crew to pull something off well, at this point affects my interest in getting out on the road with a large group.
As far as "Co-Branding"
I think Midnight Ridazz rides should be MR rides first and foremost and organizers, while I believe they (and or their crew) deserve credit for doing the community service of putting on a ride, should'nt get too wild with putting their name and logo all over the ride posting & spoke cards.
During All City Toy Ride most of the individual rides were "co-branded" by the crews that organized them. As the point person on ride listings, All I asked was that the ride listings put the neighborhood first and foremost in the ride listing so people knew that this was an open neighborhood thing and not a cliquey bike crew thing.

I think it's tacky to put "Presented by..." etc on the 2nd Friday ride. I've never done it. It should be OBVIOUS who does the organizing. It's thankless no matter what you do. I think advertising your "crew" on a 2nd Friday is bad taste and disrespectful for all the years that everyone else has been organizing these Ridazz events.
As for All CIty Toy Ride, I specifically asked you to REMOVE my "crews" name from my listing for the same reasons - you just never did it.

So check it out, WTF! The Ride! Leader(me) and the LOL! Ride leader (Rick Darge) came up with the idea to do a willy wonka and the chocolate factory ride, knowing that this ride has so much potential to be big and inviting to all kinds of ridazz, it was clear we should make it a MR ride.
WTF! And LOL rides only bring in a few thousand riders from all over the world, and MR rides have 200+, we aren't branding the ride our ride at all, it is a Midnight Ridazz ride through and through, it's in its very early stages and we are going to have a lot of involvement from other people to make this a great ride.
SOOOOO, What I'm trying to say is, come to 3rd & Traction(RWNN meet spot) this friday(3rd friday) january 21st and ride with the WTFLOL! Wear flannel, have fun and ride with us!

I'm saying that branding the 2nd Friday, the ride that started this whole fucking site and this whole fucking community is disrespecting me and a bunch of people who have organized a ton of rides over the past 5 years anonymously.

Listen, I think it's awesome that someone is stepping up and organizing the next 2nd Friday. Yeah it might be easier now since less people show up for 2nd Friday, but there was a time that 2nd Friday was the only ride. I've organized PLENTY of 2nd Fridays, so I know all too well how tough it is to organize that shit. Especially when ridership was in the THOUSANDS. I'm not dismissing your efforts, in fact you're awesome for stepping up to do something that a lot of people are burnt out doing - including myself.
My beef is with the "presented by..." or "Brought to you by..." tag lines that I'm seeing written on 2nd Friday ride postings and I'm calling BULLSHIT on it. I AM bothered by it, obviously not many people care, or notice. So I'm bringing it up - that is all.

Ok, I'll calm down now.
Sorry if I came off as abrasive, but I really care about Midnight Ridazz. Its reputation and well being, and its history and future is really important to me. The "meh" attitude is what has disenfranchised a lot of former Ridazz, and discourages people like me from organizing. People don't seem to care, and when things start becoming thrown around casually it cheapens it - it bugs the fuck out of me.

on one hand: i think its good to call attention to yourself for putting on a ride. it makes it seem less mysterious, like maybe YOU could do it too. which you should. i've been fantasizing about putting on a 2nd friday ride since i realized it was made by actual human beings rather than angels with wheels rather than wings.
on the other: 2nd friday IS sacred territory. just posting it and having "posted by X" at the bottom should be enough. no need to call attention to yourself, as if YOU make any difference in this sea of enlightened individuals.
me? i think there is a lot more that goes into a ride than the words "brought to you by..." A LOT more. at the end of the day, its just another thing to bitch about on the internets, i guess, which is great. the dialogue on this site has gotten to be totally manageable lately and there are still SO MANY people out on the streets. MEH! this ship making steam and there ain't nobody gonna stop it.
