SO I HAVE 2 WORK THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON,AFTER SHOULD I RIDE W/ C.M. OR HOP INTO EDC...?

But yeah, I hopped in last year and me and my friends got off easy. There was an unlocked gate. I believe they used it for getting all of the sound/stage equipment in the area and decided not lock it.
I told a swarm of kids to go through another unlocked gate.
When the security guard protecting the previous gate ran towards the others, I pulled it open.
I've never done anything like that. Not even trying to run away from cops.
I believe I just got extremely lucky. Every year, their making their security stronger.
They've even gotten LAPD to actually make arrests now. Before, they wouldn't.
Also, LAPD, is now allowed to use physical force to take your ass down.
There's this awesome GIF, of this fat raver girl getting her arm broken and tazed. I'm not so sure of the arm getting broken, but the tazing was real.
So, if you'd like to be that fat raver chick getting tazed and pummeled on, by all means, be my guest.
I'm going to North Hollywood to play Bike Polo. Fuck rides, they're slow anyway.

shit i remember EDC when the locations were TBA until the night of, and you needed to go to different map points to buy tix and get directions. now it's a just a wasteland of tweens waiting for adult hood to snap them out of it..

You sound like an old man describing rap music for the first time .. because you personally don't listen to it .. your giving EDC gets the shaft like the world cup ... Since you dont understand it you shoot it down with stereotypes... Im sure you are aware of my stance on techno as I listen to it most of the time .... I remember watching Moby come out a playing Infinity08 ... Years later I still can remember it like it was yesterday ... the lights, the atmosphere and the shock that Moby is a solid DJ. Yeah not that radio bullshit that made him famous and now every time I hear that song I think of that moment.... Honestly if I wasn't going on to DC I would be at EDC both days .....I spit on your sorry ... Trust me .. you will enjoy yourself ..

I can't believe they are still doing EDC. This was originally Mr. Kool AId's party (recall double hit mickeys), and then this guy Pasquel stole the name.
I would say, dont go unless you enjoy walking around a dance floor, auditorium and such, looking at all the people sitting in different corners having bad trips -- in that case it's fun.
Plus this can not, in no way, still be the same TYPE of Melrose snobs that once graced the underground scene of the 90's. For one, Melrose is not the same, tagging is dead, and hipsters are the new fad. And what DJs do this now? I can't believe they still do this crap.
The point being -- you have to change with times.
Bike are cool NOW -- so LACM is where it's at.
By the way, so whats the drug of choice now?

Chances are they'll still be doing it 10 years from now too, seeing as how the atypical "American Dream" has become too much of a burden to bear.
Of course it will be raising kids from the back of the mini-van as well, thanks to the aforementioned,
drunk half naked slut.

Some will do EDC, some will do LACM w/the Beretta twirlers, others will probably be stuck at work or home as usual, from a distance.

The real question was EDC or LACM. And my beef is that people would rather go to EDC. What bullshit.
Like stated above and other threads, LACM with the LAPD is historic and monumental to bicyclist. Riding with them,will approve relations with cyclist and the LAPD. And for them to take time to actually come to LACM and were welcoming them, it's gonna be magical. At least I hope.
But noooo, EDC falls the same day, and I have to drop my fixed gear fad bike to listen to Daft Punk, getting fucked up with a bunch of 18 year olds who just graduated from Fairfax High School.
This will separate with real cyclist to bandwaggan fad bike riding.
Make you choice.

wow, i just read up on the line up... and the LA Times wrote the above statement. No joke, that is really fucked up. DJ Kool Aid started Electric Daisy Carnival.
Then one year, Pasquale, just took the name and threw an EDC at the Shrine Auditorium many many years ago. Pasquale was (from what I knew from others) as shaddy little dude. But that must be rolling in mass amounts of money.
But as one of my best friends said when we're still young studs in the late 90's, "You know, I used to really think it was about music, but it's not; it's all about the drugs".
That really summed up the whole scene then.

For me it is ... I don't hang out in the drug infested crowd .. Im in the cut .. backstage ... Im all about the music .. Im not in the crowd so it may be a different experience .. Im speaking for myself and not for the masses.. I enjoy the music drugs not needed ..

The kids who were chanting EDC at the begining of LACM, when Roadblock asked where should the destination be, were the same fuckin wannabe gangster assholes who were booing the cops in the beginning of the ride. The same assholes who were still yelling "Fuck the police" on the ride. The same assholes who riding on the over side of the road on LACM. The same assholes who were caught tagging. All were colorful expensive fixed gear bikes with no breaks and all had the lights that were givin to them from the LAPD. And what did they still do, disrespected them.
I'm sorry to sound like a asshole. But these are the same fucking kids who ruin every ride for us. And they wanted to go EDC with 600 people with the police? Knowing damn well they wernt going to get in the first place?
Just showes you what kinda crowd EDC attracts doesn't it.
Hope you guys had fun at you rave. You missed out in a very historical night in Los Angeles.

EDC was crazy when I went two years ago. I was pretty close to Moby too, had a blast. I'm not really one for trance or electronica but when it's live it's pretty fucking amazing, especially when 100,000 people are jumping up and down feeling the music. What got to me when I first went was the amount of people I saw once I walked into the coliseum via the tunnels, it was like a sea of glowing dots all around you. It's amazing to see that many people at a regular event where just the stands are filled but when the stands and the floor are completely filled and you know that there are like 5-6 more stages outside filled with people, now that is amazing.
There is one thing LACM won't do that EDC can pretty much guarantee if your not a total loser, it will either get you numbers from hot/cute chicks to meet up with later or down right sex wherever you please at that moment. Ahh, memories... regardless, I hung my raving shirt two years ago when I went to every single rave in SoCal possible in a year. I'll tell you what though, if I ever find myself wanting to pick up some chicks in a very target rich enviornment and the tickets were free, which is how I've gotten all of them thus far from selling lights or knowing some one on the inside, I would definitely go. I ride my bike 40+ miles a day hustle status, getting pussy comes every now and then, not a very hard chose there. I gotta fill in the biological needs before I can help out with the political process. There was still Saturday anyway that people would of been able to go. Although, I didn't go to both events I'm pretty sure there were plenty of people at both places for an amazing show of force.

Last night was a blast. More people and another stage compared to last year's big day (Sat) to the one I went to this year (friday).
beware: its 16+, and they are not checking ID's at the gate - but since its midnight, for next year's reference
