To my best knowledge, there has been two unrelated rides organized in the name of MUSTACHES. Then, there's none other than The Mustache Bridge.

I am fascinated by this fascination...

Cycledelics had a mustache ride before Funderstorm's show last weekend in Riverside. The callled it:
"who's up for another mustache ride"
which implies the possibility the the Cycledelics have the same sort of pre occupation with mustaches at costumes.

What I really think.?? It's fairly easy for everyone to be involved in a mustache ride. Don't have a real mustache? bring a fake one.
or
"Oh, wait, you didn't know this was a mustache ride? Oh, here I've got a sharpie with your name on it."

Oh...

I thought maybe there was some kind of socio-psychological complex deeply embedded in American culture driving such curious phenomenon.

It just seems mustaches have transformed from being historical symbols of power and manhood to cultural irony. Like, "Look! A girl! A girl with mustache! Teehee." I remember falling more in love with one of my girl friends when I found out she drove around with some synthetic blond tragedy on her dashboard, wearnig it in times of boredom. In college, the graduate students would hold annual Mustache Hoedowns to see who could grow the best, the longest. Undergraduate girls like myself would scurry up to the stairwell where they hung weekly progress photos, giggling at the cleverly groomed mustaches...

I don't recall such fascination elsewhere... When people ask me, "So what's the U.S. really like?" I should respond, "There, facial hair makes us laugh."
