Craigslist is a black hole, into which your resume goes and never comes back.

not true actually.
I got two jobs through craigslist.

For me it seems the job market itself is a black hole into which my resume is destined to vanish...
Been looking for most of a year.

Still no dice on the trucking front, I have only recently started working in security again, in addition to taking a math class.
My only idea right now is to keep my CDL updated and wait for the economy to start picking up steam again.
This way, the Over-The-Road driver turnover will jump from 65% to 130% and I'll be more than likely, yanked from where I sit.

And I thought this was going to be a kick-ass gig involving a 40 ft, smooth-bore, food-grade tanker transport.

I have no idea what you're looking for or where, but I saw a 'now hiring' sign outside the Vitamin Shoppe in Manhattan Beach on Rosecrans.
This one:

At least you'd get a hookup on protein and sports drink......

if you live on the westside, you have a car and you can briefly lift 100 lbs, email me at iain (hat) sparkwoodfiregrill dodd-calm

it's a day job, by the way. catering, so you may not lift a finger all day, but if you do its more likely than not going to pay $30-100. Minimum of $25 for 11a-2:30pm; if any catering orders come in you keep everything.
not a career, but it's great money considering you get to hang out in our upstairs private lounges with your laptop all day. (free wifi.)

need-need a car. it's delivery/catering. i had two drivers make $50 each on monday from doing one delivery. you get a 10% service charge on orders over $100. we have between 2 and 8 catering orders per week, generally ranging from $150-500, with a few $1000 orders, which will earn you about $100-200 in a day. if you make no deliveries, we give you $25.
call me if youre interested 310.598.0857

Have you guys checked out indeed.com?
It's awesome. It's a job listing aggregator that pulls open job listings from a whole bunch of other websites and puts them all in one easy to search place.
I highly recommend it.
Also recommended - informational interviews. If you're looking for something more than the generic food service / retail position, call people who are doing the stuff you'd like to be doing and see if you can meet them for coffee and talk to them about how they got where they are, and if they can recommend other people to talk to. People LOVE to talk about themselves, and this is a great way to get in front of people who may know people who are hiring, since a HUGE portion of job openings are never even listed and filled through word of mouth.

You know my story, just look in the past threads.
Anywho, I might, MIGHT, consider the ArNG if keep my mouth shut and get a qualifying score to get me into helicopter repair, then eventually pilot.
Never flown before and figure taking the stick would be the best way to conquer the unknown.
