 We have a weekly ride in Koreatown, a few fellas usually roll up from your new hood. Wednesday nights. And Justin is a regular when he doesn't break his bike like a dumbass.

 i dunno. that was my first (and last) time riding through there. it was a friday night at 1am (sat morn) and we were at washington and crenshaw. i guess the cops told the people with me (when i was at the hospital) that we were crazy for taking washington in that area at that time of night.
i'd call your local police station and see what they say. a lot of times you can find crime maps online that are updated.

 crime maps are tricky though... by the numbers I live in a terrible part, shootings all over the place. But in reality it's all gang-on-gang shit, so I have yet to be affected by it.

Neighborhoods in this part vary so much from block to block, so it's hard to say. My impression, having cycled around there and Arlington Heights, is that on average it's not *significantly* worse than Koreatown. I like to think that if you're respectful of the neighborhood it'll be cool. In that neighborhood I see more locos and crazies than gang bangers. Barefoot crackheads walking down the middle of the street yelling at their imaginary friends, shit like that. But take that with a big fat grain of "what the fuck do I know". Hell, maybe there's USC kids all over and everything is hunky dory. psh.
