Hey friends....I love MR and the rides and well I could use your help
I got a bad run of luck the past week and recieved two fat tickets
one parking and one from the chp
Im broke and my mom just lost her job and my own unemployment is lagging
sale'ing everyhting I own ....

Before you sell everything, make sure you're dealing with the tickets properly.
1. Call the number on each ticket and talk to the clerk's office, and tell them you'd like to postpone the trial date. This will move things back a couple of months.
2. A couple of weeks before your new trial date, call those numbers again, and tell them you'd like to request a "trial by declaration". You will have to deposit the amount of the ticket, but it essentially means that both you and the cop each have to fill out a form presenting your sides of the story. Since this is more paperwork for the officer, he/she may not complete it, in which case, you win and don't have to pay. If you both fill it out, and the judge sides in your favor, obviously, you win. If you both fill it out and the judge sides with the officer, you still have another chance, by requesting a trial de novo.
3. When you get the letter with the judges decision, assuming it's not in your favor, call in and request a "trial de novo", where you start fresh and both come to court just like you would have done originally. Again, there's a chance the cop won't show up, in which case you win.
One of my buddies just followed this process and won and saved himself a couple of hundred bucks. Maybe it'll work for you.

one was a parking ticket for parking in malibu 78.50
and one is for crossing the double yellow lines being in a carpool line
the minium is 341.00
its terrible and im not looking to postpoine my trial date its in aug.
this just isnt good because im trying to get a job with LAFD

I aggree with JB. Even if it is your bad you can apply for a waiver which will give you an extension or drop the fee (maybe even give you a low cost option). I'm unemployed during the summer and was able to get a waiver to cover an already delinquent ticket. You should really explore that option. It's on the dept of transportation website.

idk if someone had already mentioned it above but try to get a trial with the judge and when you see him/her, tell them your situation.
awhile back, i got caught with a redlight ticket via camera and it was around 380. i told the judge that i was a student and that i am broke and that there was NO WAY i would be able to pay the fine. he dropped it to a hundred bucks.
i think its worth a shot. judges are people too and if they see that someone isnt really in the best situation right now they usually cut you some slack.
